Hey mommas!

We will be traveling to WDW in early September and have an appt at BBB at 8:30am. Then we will eat breakfast at CRT, go on rides, watch a parade, and then meet Anna and Elsa at 4pm-ish.

I am going to be surprising my daughter with the trip but I am confident that she will want to dress up like Elsa at BBB.

I have the below dress from Little Adventures.

https://www.littleadventures.com/retail

My questions is...DON'T YOU THINK THAT SHE WILL BE HOT? I would be! But maybe kids are different.

Do you have any advice for me....do you have any suggestions of "cooler" dresses that you purchased from Etsy?

We will be leaving the park about 4:30pm so she will have been in the dress from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Thanks!

We got the same dresses from little dress shop :)

Honestly, in my experience the little girls at WDW will brave anything to be in a princess dress! LOL. I thought the same thing but the day my DD was in a Princess dress was the ONLY day she did not complain!!!!!

I would just bring a tanktop and some shorts for her just incase she wants to change, but my gut says she will love the special attention too much to take the dress off no matter how hot she is.

I guess they are just learning early that beauty is painfull.... :lmao::lmao:

Here is my diva in all her glory on our last trip (age 4)

Thanks for the quick response! Your daughter looks so cute!

I was debating getting this dress from Etsy.

It seemed a little less...long sleeved? Ha!

I was letting my daughter look online w me. Now she wants a long cape! Of course! :lmao:

Have you gotten your dresses yet? I made my daughter try it on tonight but would not let her open her eyes! She was actually a good sport. At least I know it fits.

I second this. We have the Elsa dress from the Disney store. VERY heavy, and similar to the dress you are looking at, only it has sheer sleeves (but still long sleeves). We were at WDW at the end of last month and my DD wore that dress ALL day long, from going to our BBB appointment at 8:00 a.m. until we left the park after our 7:00 p.m. dinner reservation. She complained every other day about the heat, but not on that day. I think if she wants to dress as Elsa bad enough she won't have a problem or complain about wearing the dress all day. Before anyone says anything, my DD picked out the dress and chose to wear it all day, I didn't try to make her do anything!

OoOo I actually really like the one you linked!!!! So cute!!! Yes we got our dresses, we got her both the Anna & Elsa. The trip is a surprise so she hasn't seen them... I dont know which she will wear to meet them but she will be SO excited!! If you noticed the baby Cinderella in her lap, she also has Ariel and Rapunzel from other trips... I recently found a set of Anna & Elsa dolls of the same kind at Target for $39.99!! Our A&E fastpass is actually our very last day, but I think it will perfect for a separate surprise to wake up the dresses and the dolls! Now I just have to keep her from trying to buy them before our last day, LOL :lmao:

I like the one you linked. Even if she would wear a "regular" princess dress without complaining, why not have her be more comfortable? I guess if you think she will object to the differing details, then maybe go with the official costume, but otherwise I would go for comfort every time.

We go through alot to dress like a Princess at WDW. Last year I dressed as Merida for MNSSHP with a full wig and heavy green dress just like Merida wears in the movie. with 99% Humidity, I braved the entire night. It was an amazing experience. I've seen many young girls wear full Princess dresses no matter what the temperature outside. You could bring something for her to change into, just in case

I was the bad mom who made her change the first time. She was so sad especially seeing other princesses walking around. I am a sucker. The second time we brought clothes and she eventually changed on her own. Both times were in the summer. I agree bring the clothes. Princesses really don't sweat, apparently!

We actually had our BBB appointment the day before our MK day and dinner at CRT at 430 that afternoon. We waited until before our reservation on our park day to change her back into her dress. We had another lighter T-shirt style dress that she wore to the park that day and she was still called princess all day long even before she put her "real" dress back on. If she will go for a change of clothes it may be the best way to go for you and might even save you some sanity. I know my little princess can mess up a outfit kinda quick so knowing that she wasn't going to mess up her princess dress before pictures with Cinderella put us at ease throughout the day.

What size is she? I have a sleeveless Elsa inspired dress that even has a cape. It's a size 3 but fits more like a 4. It's huge on my daughter. If that's too small, I can try and find the brand and send you a link.

Let her wear the dress. Keep her hydrated, and bring a change of clothes! We are going in December, and I'm hoping it's cooler on our BBB day. I have a little Elsa as well!

You are too thoughtful! She is more of a 5/6. If you can find the link....that would be great!

My girls wear their dresses all day, too. I usually have them wear a thin tank top and shorts underneath so we can take the dress off anywhere at any time if necessary, plus it cuts down on the itch factor. They usually wear their dresses the entire day, though, with no complaints. Last year, DD10 toured MK from rope drop to about 8:30 pm in Rapunzel's wedding dress. I don't know how she managed to smoosh it into the rides and not wreck it, but she did. Princesses figure it out, I guess. ;)

Maybe I'm nuts but I like the ETSY dresses better than any traditional costume dress. That goes for most all Princesses, not just Ana and Elsa. I like having something that's a little different rather than what you see on half the kids in the parks.

I'm nuts along with you. :)

I tend to agree, although the Elsa costume and Anna's coronation dress are done well by Disney. I prefer the Disney Park costumes over the Disney Store costumes as well. Plus, most people don't have them because you can only get them at WDW or DL. But there are some incredible custom designs on Etsy.

I really love the etsy one, I'm thinking of getting it for my DD! We were just talking about it today and I said the disney dress would be too hot for august, so she was thinking she'd just wear her A&E tee. This would be an amazing surprise for her! And hey, if you're crafty(I'm not) could you add sheer sleeves for her to wear after the trip?
The aliexpress one is so cute... Is that $47.50 for 5 dresses???

The Ali express website is weird... I just posted that link because it had a photo of the dress. But it's on other sites too. Do a google search.

I'm obsessed with the $75 etsy dress. But we are going in December so there's a 50/50 chance it'll be too cool. You just never know! It could be 80 degrees!

I think it will still be pretty hot when you're there, my advice will be to just be prepared. Our first day there in December - my daughter wore her minnie mouse dress and ears. It was fairly warm. I thought she'd be totally fine, and as a last minute after thought threw a tshirt and shorts in my backpack. She lasted about 2 hrs and then asked to change. I would do the same or even a lightweight sundress that would be easy to pack.
