I was playing around with costs for our 2010 trip, and decided to do what many suggest may work out cheaper and looked at the US site. I've not done this before and interestingly the DVC Villas come up as an option to book. Does anyone know if you can book these in the UK and the US cost in Dollars in quite high. You also don't get free dining which you do on Deluxe resorts when you book on the UK site.

Thanks for any help.

I was told by WDTC UK that Bay Lake Towers wouldn't be available for booking until it opened in August. In the meantime, the only way to make cash-reservations is via the USA.

However, do consider renting points from a DVC member. It can work out considerably cheaper, even with the DDP added on top.

I have rented points in the past, it is much cheaper than booking with Disney :)

We rented points for this octobers trip and i was very surprisd, we got dvc points for not a lot more than we would pay to stay at a value resort :thumbsup2

We found this also Nat. We has 3 nights at SSR for the same price as the pop back in Jan :)

I hope to rent for BLT for Jan 2010, if not AKV again :thumbsup2

Hi,

We rented points in 2006 for our Boardwalk stay by posting a thread here on the DIS on the DVC rent/trade forum.

You would need to have a) an idea of how may points you need b) an idea of how much per point you are prepared to pay *prices can vary from as little as $9 per point up to at least $12 per point* c) dates you want to stay d) Remember how many points you need can vary depending on when you are planning to go, for example you would need more points in Easter than you would say in January e) It costs more to stay at all DVC resorts Friday and Saturday.

It would also be worth bearing in mind that if you chose Bay Lake it could potentially be more expensive than some of the other resorts, as it's new. The majority of people with points available to sell would probably be based in the US, thereby making it not quite as good value for money at the moment with the current exchange rate, common sense I know really as you would effectively be paying in $.

It's very important if you book with someone that you get a Disney confirmation number in writing.

You may also ask for some credentials from the seller, I know when we bought the seller actually sent us details which clarified all was above board and legitimate - though I cannot remember what they were to be honest.
