While I like the refurb, I wish they didn't take away that table and the 2 chairs in the studio! ☹️ I'm not the only one right?
I feel the same. Stayed there last week and love the new look/colors, but the bench and tube/seat doesn’t provide anywhere to sit and eat/work. If you don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the room, it works fine, but I wouldn’t want to relax in the studio now unless lounging in the bed. I also find that small little 8”x8” nook in the counter near the sink in the bathroom hysterically useless. :)

Nope, you’re certainly not alone.

I’m sure they’ve heard the feedback by now as they continue to do this throughout the refurb cycle.

It seems like it’s hit all the ones that have received a full refurb starting with SSR and people complain every single time and rightfully so imo.

So far to my knowledge the table that you could actually work/eat from has been removed from BLT, BRV, BWV, HHI so far.

While they added the queen Murphy beds to BCV, PVB and VGF they were not full refurbs and the table and chairs remain. I’m not sure if VB was considered soft goods or a full refurb but the table and chairs remains there as well.

We don’t usually stay in studios but when I have I certainly miss the real chairs and table.

We have so many messes and the table helps with that.

Another thing I have noticed is vacuums seemed to not be kept in the room anymore. I guess with moving to the hardwood floors they don’t think it is needed?

Yeah the table is just a nice place to sit and do whatever we need to do. Is it because when the murphy bed folds down it cuts into the space where the table/chairs are? That's the only thing I can think of. We are 1 bedroom people if we have enough points, but certainly will miss the table/chairs too when we do stay in a studio :worried:

I don’t believe so. The B resorts with the exception of BLT that only slept 4 had the table integrated into the twin Murphy. When they decided to make the new drop down they just didn’t add a free standing table. BLT, SSR & HHi had freestanding tables so no idea why they thought the little ottoman thing was a good substitute for a table but I don’t believe it was a space issue.

I know there are shaded areas by the BLT pool for seating. How about inside the pool? Are there trees with long enough shadows to provide a bit of shade at certain times of the day?

I'm looking at it right now, and unfortunately, no.

Also, I had to laugh. I requested a refurbished room on the upper floor (we have a preferred studio)....and got an old room on the 4th floor instead.

Oh, well! Someone has to get the old rooms, I guess, until they're all finished. It just stunk to see that new carpet end right before our room.

I don't mind that as much as the loss of a chair in the living rooms of the larger units. Since the twin sofabed became the small pull-down murphy bed, there's one less seating surface and it was comfy for movie-watching nights

I agree, it was nice to have the pull out chair and the additional chair (although it was never comfortable). When we stayed in the newly refurbished 1 bedroom, we simply moved the chair out of the bedroom. Fortunately, it's not very heavy.

Oh, good tip!

After doing the math and considering factors such as resale ability , point rental ability, years left on contract and where I prefer to stay I made a offer and just passed rofr yesterday on a 200 point bay lake contract . Have not stayed there yet but look forward to it .

If I were driving to the resort, I would remember to include a folding TV tray or two to bring along.

Welcome home! In all likelihood you'll get a nicely refurbished room when you do get to stay 🙂

Yup Welcome home. Our fist stay at BLT was December 2023, pre-refurb. At first we were a little disappointed in the small lobby and lack of theming, but that quickly faded. We were in a 2 BR with the grandkids and their parents. 3 full bathrooms was a godsend. I loved the layout of the room in general and the kitchen in particular. Very nice and lots of room. It was a very easy hop over to the Contemporary for QS meals. Location cannot be understated. Easy walk to the Magic Kingdom, catch the monorail in the contemporary for Epcot. Had no issue with the busses. Could not be happier with our decision to add-on at BLT. Our first DVC purchase was back in 1996 at the BWV. We Love BLT, but for different reasons than BWV. Really hope you guys love it as much as we do.

Echo this!
I really loved the refurb in the studio; the wall paper and art are awesome…
Sometimes if I travel on Wed or Thursday I need to work remotely, i need to remember the lack of table/chair when booking hotels ..
