We are travelling in August with our friends and their 3 children (10, 8 and 5), in total we are a group of seven. At the moment I have a 2 bed standard view booked at BLT for 6 nights and am considering trying to switch to a 2 bed at Beach Club (subject to availability) at the 7 month point.

The points are different by 2 so no huge issue...but am I overlooking any reason why one resort is better?

Pros for BLT:

Close to MK
Easy access to Top of the world lounge

Pros for Beach Club:

Amazing pool?
Easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

We have another week off site after and this is likely the only trip our friends will make....which resort would you all pick?

Thanks :)

I prefer the overall vibe of Beach Club. August is so hot, and the pools at BLT/CR are sterile. The pool theming is minimal. While it fits the overall resort in its way, if BC is an option, those pools clearly win.

The walk from BLT to MK is nice (as is the walk from BC to DHS/EP) but in August, having the backup option of the friendship boat is good, since neither walk is noted for its shade. This may be personal preference, as I am a delicate-skinned Scandinavian. :drinking:

Yup-- it's gonna be hot.....the kids will like the pool and you all will hate the walk.... Beach club.

Yeah it'll definitely be hot and our friends have never been to Florida (we are from the UK).

You have both confirmed what I was thinking about the pool and boats :)

Thanks :)

Personally, I'd pick BLT. Both your options have convenient access to two parks, though with BLT having MK easy access I'd give them the nod on convenience.

The main reason I'd pick BLT is to get the extra full bathroom in the 2BR villa. With 7 people in a 2BR villa, you might find it very convenient to have an extra bathroom.

Depends on which park(s) you will be spending the most time in and how much resort time you have planed. Also if you like one resorts theming over the other.

Can I ask, how many bathrooms are in the BLT 2 bedroom? We are staying in one next year with 7 people as well.

There are 3 bathrooms in the two bedrooms at BLT. One in the master, one in the second bedroom, and one in the shared living space.

So as they have never been before we will be doing each park once and then seeing what they want to repeat. I suspect the children will need some pool time each day so I'm leaning towards Beach Club but the extra bathroom at BLT would be useful....

I recommend the BC for SAB pool in the August heat with 3 children.
It is easy to adjust shower time if some (maybe the kids??) are willing to shower/bathe at night and others in the morning.
Good Luck

Yeah that was what I was thinking. I'll have to check what the others think....

BLT is my choice. Walking to MK will be a blessing. You will not be walking to DHS at BCV as it just too hot and you have enough kids that they will be wilting before you get there. The bus ride to DHS from BLT is a piece of cake. We did it in June with twin 3 year olds and rode the bus everywhere and we stayed at BLT. The 3 bathrooms will be nice and the extra space in a BLT living will be great. Make a request with MS for an even numbered room and you living room will be even wider. With 7 people that will be a nice to have some extra room. Kids like the BLT pool. And they love the slide. And you can easily keep an eye on them from your chair.

Hmmm, we actually don't do buses. We would use the boats but otherwise we will drive (with the possible exception of to the MK) as we will have a car for our 2 week trip.

I'm still torn....

We have been using uber for our transport lately-- fantastic-- usually arrive at the front of the resort within 5 minutes from our call. Take you wherever you want for average $12.

With kids I would lean towards BC. Also if you are going to have Park Hoppers, being close to EPCOT and HS is nice to run in to the park for dinner, or dessert or just the fireworks at end of the night. Also makes it easy of you want to do something on your own as well.

I 2nd what Granny says! BCV is a great resort and I love the proximity to 2 parks, but for only 2 more pts, BLT would be my choice. Another reason I like BLT, the amenities that Contemporary has, the food court IMO is best on property, plus the close proximity of other resorts via monorail or boat, which intern gives more choices of restaurants, etc.

Yeah we will have the UK tickets which include hoppers. And that was another of my thoughts...either us or our friends could pop out if the kids are tired and the others could stay with them....

I love BLT....that's why it's our home resort. I'm still not sure though...I don't have to choose just yet...luckily!
