Bausch & Lomb recall

B & L has recalled their ReNu MoistureLoc Multi Purpose solution for soft contact lens. DD had a couple of bottled and I just threw them out. Evidently eye infections have developed with continued use of this product. Blindness can result, so toss this stuff out!

I have never used this product before but bought some about 3 weeks ago b/c my solution was not in stock. Lately I have had double vision, blood shot eyes and just an all around discomfort with my eyes that I have never had. I think I will be taking a trip to the eye doctor. Thank you so much for the info!

I've been using this stuff, and my eyes are VERY irritated. I thought it was just the pollen!

Is that the regular ReNu, or is it a specialized type of ReNu? I've used ReNu for years and haven't had a problem...but I don't want an eye fungus or blindness! I wouldn't even know what to switch to at this point!!

I think they are talking about the one that says "with Moistureloc" on the box. I have a few sample bottles from my eye dr I'm throwing away!!! My normal Renu says nothing about Moistureloc.

okay...last night when I put my contacts in the cleaner, I put the right one in my regular cleaner (AMO moisture plus) and the left in the Renu w/Moisture Loc. I have been having problems recently with extremely dry eyes and wanted to see if it was the AMO cleaner and if the Renu would be better. The right eye feels good (regular cleaner) and the left (Renu) is irritated. And I rinsed the left contact lens very thoroughly with saline before I put it in

I guess I will have to either take it out and clean again with the AMO or throw it away and open a new one

Oh crap, I've been using this for months and months. I just emptied one bottle this morning and was going to open the new one tonight. I was just at the eye doctor last week so I know I don't have any infections or anything. Guess I better run to the store and pick up a bottle of regular Renu solution.

I'm a little confused by that article. At first it says B&L Renu products, then down farther it mentions the MoistureLoc. Is it all Renu products?

Thank you soooo much for posting this! I have a sample of it and was going to try it this week b/c I'm running out of Aquify. Its going straight in the trash and I'm going to Wal-Mart to buy some more of what I was using.

I use the 'No Rub' formula, not the 'MoistureLoc', but until they clarify things I guess I'm wearing my glasses!

The Ciba AOSEPT has been out of stock for us for about a month or so. We've been using Renu in the mean time (but we bought it from BJ's about 9 or 10 months ago before we started using AOSEPT, so I assume we're safe).

My husband asked our eye care place about CIBA and they told us that the plant had to shut down becuase the products were contaminated and they should be shipping new bottles in the next few weeks. Our eye care place was able to give us a few sample bottles of the Ciba AOSEPT to tide us over.

I've called Ciba Vision a couple times now. Each time, I am told I should start seeing Aopsept on the store shelves within a week. They did say Clear Care was an alternative for Aosept. I bought some last night because I am almost out of my last bottle of Aosept.

I am going to call B&L right now regarding the ReNu. My DD uses the No-Rub product.
