Battlestar Galactica questions - May be spoilers...

See, I'm torn between believing Leoben when he said "Adama is a Cylon" (back in Season 1) - which would definitely make Three's reaction make sense - and not believing Leoben because, well, CYLON! And of course, Adama could mean Bill...or Lee (who I don't think would cause Three's reaction)...or Kara (who MAYBE could get Three's reaction but not definitely)...definitely not Dee...

But if it's Bill, what's the point of having Tigh be a Cylon? All the Watchtower Four have high positions close to members of the Fleet (Tigh, Tory) or unions (Chief) or are totally hot (Anders...I mean, leader of the Resistance on Caprica and one of the leaders on New Caprica.) Make Bill a Cylon and you have someone in CIC, and Anders was there to help Tigh with the New Caprica Resistance so it wasn't necessary to have another Cylon there.

And Kara - we've seen very young Kara. Cylons don't age, unless they plan on changing that - as they might need to with Tigh. I know we might be seeing new rules that apply to the Watchtower Four (or Five), but...

I think that's why these 4 cylons are unique, they age. I truly believe they are against the other cylons and want to save mankind.

I have lots of speculations about the show. The great thing about BSG is that they take major chances with their storylines and don't really worry if the viewing audience will thing they're being PC or not. It's my favorite show.

And Katee Sackoff has said that 'Starbuck, as we know her, is gone.' Whatever that means, I don't know, but I have my theories.:)

I think the 5 proobably do age. Their being in the society from an early age would help them reach the positions they are in today.
I can't help but think we'll get a little taste of a plotline form the origional series. Starbuck was an orphan found wandering in the forrest after a cylon raid. I've been thinking that would be a perfect way to "plant" a young cylon.
It wouldn't surprise me if we find out that all of the final 5 were abandoned orphans.

Did the ratings go down after they move to Sundays? I always thought that Battlestar Galactica was a hit for Sci-Fi. Now I am hearing that it is danger of being canceled and the have only ordered a short season next year.

If they are not suppoed to age, somebody better tell that to the actress that plays Six. She looks like she has aged ten years since season 1.

Ahhh...but we don't know for sure those 4 (or 5) are even really Cyclons. They may believe themselves that they are...but I'm wondering if they are really, instead, just genetically susceptible to some trigger known only to those original humans that left for earth, and perhaps they left some sort of triggering signal in the form of an automated space buoy or something.

As far as Starbuck...maybe the "Lords of Kobol" interveined somehow. Maybe she ejected prior to her Viper's destruction, or a signal buoy automatically triggered her ship to eject her? Or maybe, the destruction of her ship was just a holographic projection. There are so many possibilities, so many options, besides these folks actually being Cylons.

My theory is the "final five" travel along like the "ship op white lights" people of the orignal BG series and they took Starbuck. Don't be surprised if we get a "flashback" episode of what Starbuck went through between her ship exloding and re-appearing to Lee in the season finale. What I would really love to see is both Starbuck and Apollo being taken to their white ship together... just like the original series.

I think one of the key things here is the question "What makes a Cylon?" Is the president one because she has Hera's blood in her? Are you born a cylon or can cylon's be made? Is it that maybe three of these four revealed ones were involved WITH cylons (Chief + Boomer; Anders + Starbuck (?); Chief + Ellen (?)) but aren't actually cylons by birth?

Aw frak it all! 2008?? What kind of Tigh-uttered-CRaaaaaaaP is that??

My other random thought lately is that Earth time is currently set to around 2000 years ago. Baltar will write his story in his purple prose, it will be passed to the Earthlings and he will be memorialized in story as the son of God. (Yes, Easter got me thinking about BSG. Don't judge.)

But whatever happens, please, no Dr. Z and space scouts.

Ratings went up when they moved to Sundays.

Which is a bummer for me because I liked it better on Fridays (well, the ratings are NOT a bummer...but it means it's not likely to move back to Friday nights)

Sci-fi has ordered 22 eps for next season :)

As for the "orphan found after a disaster" plot - that's how Boomer (Sharon Valeri) got herself into Colonial society too - so it could work for the Five as well. Although, with Boomer, those were false memories. She wasn't actually ever a child. She just THOUGHT she was. I guess we'll have to wait and see whether the FIVE were children. At ny rate, I can't wait to find out Adama's reaction to Tigh being a Cylon!

OP - you MUST see the last ep! Jamie Bamber deserves an emmy for it! He was just awesome :goodvibes

As for Galactica 1980, I am pretty sure Ron Moore would never do anything half that stupid, but if he tried, I can imagine the main cast running fast, running far. LOL

I don't think there will be a Galactica 2010 (or anything of the sort).

My reasoning is that I think the finale will be them finding Earth, the Cylons hot of their heels, and the Admiral and president choosing to sacrifice themselves (and all of the colonials) in a sort of suicide bombing that completely destroys the Cylons as well. Just a theory, but it leaves little room for Bill Adama on earth with a flying motorcycle.

Maybe one of them saved a vial of that virus that doesn't like Cylons. :scared1:

Anyway, I want this to end in a way that lets Bill and Laura live happily ever after. It's those space hookers Apollo and Starbuck that should go away for good.

BTW, I really hate the way SciFi runs their seasons. It's only april and we have to wait until 2008 for new episodes. It no wonder why they cancel series like Stargate & Farscape...people lose interest because they have to wait so darn long.

There will be a two-hour movie (supposedly the Pegasus story) aired this fall, then released to DVD within a day or two. Ron Moore has said the whole BSG cast will be in it, plus most of the Pegasus crew we met.

Something to leep me going until 2008!

If any of you are looking for a good BSG discussion board, the BSG board at Gateworld (as in Stargate) and the Ragnar Anchorage board are my favorites. Not sure if we are allowed to link to other boards, so you can just google them.

the sicfi channel board is pretty good too. I post on the stargate archives all the time, and they have BSG board there too.

and don't forget TWOP!

(television without pity)

And I'm partial to The Adama Realm (an ezboard community) but as it's name suggests, it's for those who love the Adama boys  (although all fans are welcome :) )
