Battery door on camera

We are leaving for Disney next month. My camera was dropped and the battery door was broken. When I put in the batteries, they fall back out. Has anyone replaced/repaired the battery door? What was the cost?
I found one on Ebay, but it did not come with instructions on how to replace it.

When I have a problem like that I will just tape the door shut once the battery(s) are in.

That's what I was thinking too, but afraid that at Disney it will get all sticky and yucky on the camera. I guess I will find out the cost tomorrow, and if too bad, I will either buy a new one or use velcro straps on it. I hope it is not too expensive to fix.
