Battery backup for power recliners question

I would check the capacity of the UPS. It makes little sense to have the power (watts) that meets the requirement and runs out of capacity halfway through the cycle. Again, I would aim for a UPS that exceeds the power and Ah requirements (say ~20%). Self-discharge on a battery meeting a minimum requirement doesn't provide enough buffer for many applications (like yours).
When we bought our recliners, no matter what brand they were, we were told the motors were all BMW automotive power window motors. Google search indicates that would be 12 volts, and less than 100 watts. So a $50 surge protector battery backup like this would work. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics...-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I needed. Don't say find wattage , multiply by 2. 7, turn around 7 times, divide by three and hold your breath that it's the right one. Say, this should work and include a link. I've spent so much times trying to find the wattage of chairs. I wanted to have a unit before the sofa comes, so once it's put down, it can be plugged in and done. I don't need to try to wiggle behind it, r e a c h the cords, etc.

I checked reviews and a several people mention using the one you noted with a recliner.

As to other advise PP have given, I think I will buy the next step up, just to make sure it's strong enough. Our sofa will have three recliner chairs, but only really need to get the one with DH closed. I can still manage to flop over and get up, if the backup runs out of power. But of course , the less flopping I need to do , the better.

My MIL and SIL tell a story about them both being in their recliners (they lived together) when the power went out and their adventures trying to get out of their recliners without knocking over lamps etc. Neither of them was in very good shape physically and apparently they were laughing so hard they were afraid they were going to have a second problem!

At least with a sofa, you probably won't have the chair tipping over as you try to crawl out of it worry!

Years ago , with a manual recliner (the kind with a handle), my sister couldn't get the foot rest go down. She thought let me give it a good whomp with my legs to make it go down. Well, the motion of trying to swing her legs, set the whole chair going backwards. Flat on her back, but had phone close by, called my other sister for help.
