how long do the batteries last in the Magic Bands?
I have one I'd like to keep using from 2 years ago, which i have a sorcerers of the kingdom game attached to.
can these batteries be changed? (& without losing the data attached/)

There is a battery. It's not easy to change. But it lasts a long time. I have 5 yr old MBS that still work.

So there are 3 radio systems inside a magic band. The one where you touch it to a reader does not get power from the battery and will continue to work forever. So I think your SotMK game should be ok.

1. Nope.
2. A MB cannot receive or record data.
(Any ID info on the MB is permanently burned onto it at the factory.)
All the subsequent data is stored in the WDW computer system.

SotMK data is periodically erased if the guest hasn't played for a certain length of time. It used to be two years, but now that the game is more popular, I think they erase it after one year. Just be prepared to start a new game when you arrive.
