Bathroom question.....

I wouldn't have a problem with it. For someone to reach under and grab you would really take a lot of doing and would give you time to react.

If it's a two stall womens restroom, are you locking the outer door? Probably not. If some perv is going to attack a women in that circumstance, the sign on the door isn't going to stop him.

Maybe not. But it would sure look strange to see a man walking into a ladies only restroom. Some take opportunities only when they think it's safe. Having to share a public restroom with women is a valid excuse for a man to be in there. People may stop him from going into a ladies only room, but not a shared room.

Remember, most thiefs are thiefs only when a window or door is left unlocked. For some, the lock it's self it deterrent enough for him to move on.

My first thought was "your DH goes to a tanning salon?!" :lmao: I wouldn't be comfortable, only because you can usually see through the cracks.

I would lock the outer door & be very quick so as not to make anyone wait.

My opinion is that the lock on the outer door was put there with the intention that it would be used. Why there are two stalls is intriguing. I've seen it that way before too, but I never, ever saw two different genders use it at the same time. To my knowledge, the outer door always got locked.

Personally, I would lock the outer door. The previous posters whe mentioned the risk of an attack aren't being overly paranoid. It happened in the bathroom I use daily in our building, to a woman who worked in another office upstairs. Turns out it was a guy who was on work release, already in trouble for attacking a woman, and he wasn't after her purse (we know this because she threw her purse to the door hoping he'd grab it and run out, but he didn't. He had her trapped in the corner of the bathroom and he kept coming at her.) She somehow finally managed to escape out into the hallway and get someone to call the police, and the guy was arrested not far away shortly after that.

After this incident, everyone was on high alert, and we were told to notify the police immediately (as we have no security in our building. :headache:) if we ever see a male entering the women's bathroom.

If it were a unisex bathroom with a lock on the door, who knows what might happen to some poor girl in a similar situation! I think it certainly adds an element of "opportunity" that really doesn't need to be added.

I wouldn't lock the door and have no problem using a unisex bathroom. I've been known to use the mens' room at concerts and other events when it is nearly empty and the womens' line is 12 deep... not a good idea though. The last time I did this a few years back (I believe it was Gillette Stadium) security actually came in and removed me from the stall. :scared1:, threatened to throw me in jail and essentially embarrassed the heck out of me. And yeah, sometimes the guys look at you like "whatcha'll doing in my bathroom?"
