Bathing a toddler in a BIG tub

Just habit I guess. My DD had really long hair, and it was easier to brush it out wet, So it just evolved that way with the boys.

I guess I should also say, I have brothers 38, and 41 who take a bath and read a book in the tub every night. So I guess my mother started it.;)

Now I realize why the BWV tiles look so bad... YUCK! :p

Oh phooey. So they don't look so good again? Last time we went we thought they looked REALLY crummy... ol Dumbo looked more like a "Scumbo"! And now I know why -- all those "bathing babies" are to blame, lol! I'd say it's as important to shower AFTER you swim as before, in that case! Eww!

(And let's not forget the man seen relieving himself in Luna Park too... If that doesn't send ya to the showers after a swim nuthin will...)

(My son's eczema has been much better since we became a pet free household).

Really? What type pets did you remove from your home?

I have one ds with eczema, and a dd as well. THe summer time is pretty good for them, but winter is dreadful. Baths were just a killer, and poor dd LOVES a bath (but it SHO' didn't love her...) I will say -- that Elidel really worked for them, though, especially on dd. Just the TINIEST dab applied in evening before bed each night. Really saved her legs and arms.

Funny, that was my hubby that saw that! YUCK!
Yep, the tiles looked dirty in June at least, as you said like a layer of scum.

You can get in the tub with the toddler, there is room for two adults in the jacuzzi.

Two cats. I discovered that there is a high correlation between eczema in small children and pet allergeries when they get older. Seems eczema is sometimes just a small bodies way of dealing with the allergies. We got rid of the cats, and it really hasn't been too much of a problem since - even with frequent cholorinated pools this summer. Maybe he outgrew it. Maybe it was the cats.

As to tubes, she wasn't bad when water got in her ears, her doctor would scold though and always wanted them plugged. So with earbands and plugs in a toddlers ears (which she didn't want), it was always more bother than it was worth, unless she was actually dirty.

Okay, way off topic, but following the previous posts:

Just wanted to share that my 2 DS's both had severe ezcema (so did DH as a child) and that a daily bath and a coating with eucerin helps them tremendously!!!

If they don't get a quick daily bath, their ezcema would worsen--especially behind the knees and inside the elbows.

And, it's not just pet allergies that can trigger it--can be any sort of allergy--dust, pollen, foods etc.

Mine were both milk allergic as infants and would break out in ezcema from head to toe if they drank some.

Just thought I'd share.
