That is so awesome you won something - and a really good prize at that! Obviously, you will show us, but did you get to pick where you wanted it done? Or did it have to be at the boardwalk? I'm also totally unlucky when it comes to winning things. My mom always gives my brother, DSIL and I scratch off lotto tickets at Christmas and I'm so unlucky, my brother won't even do them when I'm at the table! He actually used a different coin than me to scratch them off as well.

Woo-hoo for going to Disney this month! I'm sure you will really really enjoy the break in winter weather! I'm 2 hours south of the mouse and it's 80 today!

OH MY WORD! That is unreal!!!!! Is everyone doing okay? I can't even imagine a functioning society down there in that mess. Are all the businesses closed and such? Eeeek...what a mess and a shame. What is going on this winter??? So strange!

Most everything was closed yesterday, but businesses started opening back up today. My mom called a little while ago and they got out today and drove around. She said they had already done a pretty good job of clearing the main streets, it's just the back roads and neighborhoods that are bad. My mom is lucky, she has a neighbor that has a plow type attachment for his tractor so he cleared their streets and driveways.

Schools were closed yesterday and today & I just got an email that we'll be out tomorrow as well. We had pretty much avoided all the crazy winter weather this season until now, I guess mother nature decided to stock up and dump it on us all at once


As for your update - for winning the photo package! Did you tell us that in your live updates? Seems like I remember something about it, or maybe it was just that you were going to do the photoshoot? Can't wait to see the pictures!!!

Ooh, I love Welcome Home Wednesdays. They are pretty fun. Disney sure does treat DVC members well.

Oh, and I also have a funny story. The other day my dad was asking me who is that person on the DIS with the little boy Henry (apparently he saw one of my posts on your TR). Well, he saw some of the pics and said how he was so cute with his little bus. hehe, I just had to share that-I guess you are kind of famous!

And we did get to pick our location. The portrait package is open to anyone to book, there are a few different packages to choose from-ours was the cheapest selection-which is what I wanted/planned on getting anyway. You can choose between a few different resorts-if I remember correctly, the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, the Poly or the GF. We had planed on getting it done at the Beach Club since it was so close and so pretty!

80?! My Mom is down there right now actually as well--she's visiting her boyfriend enjoying that. I'm sure she's soaking it all in, as where she lives, Minnesota, is frigid! It was in the 30's today, but icy this morning. This evening is alright. That 70/80 degree weather better be sticking around!

I've heard about that game show on the cruises, it looks like so much fun!! From what I remember that one can get pretty rowdy, right? Or was it just the particular TR that I was reading where people might have been drinking a bit much and made the game a bit more "adult rated" than necessary?

Glad to hear things are slowly getting back to normal. And that is fantastic about your Mom's neighbor doing that! So many people in MN own those, yet they RARELY offer to help someone out who doesn't have one. Joe always said if we had a snowblower he would have been doing everyone's driveways that didn't have one. It's such a pain to shovel all that.

I did mention the photo session in my live updates. I was thinking I would save it for the TR, but I was so so excited I had to share.

Can you believe our trips are so close? I have so much to do! It seems the more trips we take to WDW, the later I start planning and making things solid. YES about the weather! That is what we are most excited about-and part of the reason we picked Feb/March for the trip! I remember visiting NYC in March and it being pretty nice overall, with some chilly days mixed in. Spring, spring, spring!

I agree with you on the snack/drink department. I had never really read about a WHW, other than just brief comments, but I had read about people doing the BLT Tour - in which you get yummy eats-so I was sorta expecting that instead of a bag of snack and a tiny plastic cup-o-beverage. I guess because it can hold so many people they go kinda cheap with it.

And if our dues are paying for that, go cheap, go cheap! (I don't think dues pay for that though...at least I hope not...!)

WHW looks like a nice diversion. I think I will give it a try during my next trip. It is also a nice chance to see Atlantic Dance Hall from inside, I have seen pics and it looks like a nice place. And who knows, I might win something!!

I am the same way...we NEVER win anything!!! I always tell my kids when we are somewhere that has raffle tickets, etc., that our family never wins anything, so dont get your hopes up They know this too, and go in with the right attitude
Thats why I couldnt believe it when we won Family of the Day on our trip last May. I kept saying...we never win anything!!! Maybe our luck has changed....I hope so!
