Hi, Does anyone know if you could just have the ceremony at WDW? I don't need any type of package plan, but would still love to get married at WDW. I know they have different types of packages, but all I would need is for someone to marry us and of course to be able to have the ceremony at either the GF or Poly. If this is possible, does anyone know who I can contact?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi Jessica...

First, congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings are very "protective" of their services. Unfortunately, that means that they only allow/permit on property weddings to go through them.

Your best bet for a simple ceremony would be to do the "intimate" (now called "Escape") wedding. It basically includes a small ceremony (at one of five locations), flowers, cake and champagne reception, violinist, photography, limo service, and you would contract with an officiant on your own.

Try this link for info DISNEY WEDDINGS

That's really the best way to get married on property at Disney. I have heard of others who have considered "sneaking" a ceremony in their room. If you choose to try to do that, you might find that some officiants (who have good relationships with Disney Weddings) will not be willing to break Disney's rule. It is also possible that Disney could go so far as to ask you to leave the property. I guess it depends on how much risk you are willing to take.

Now, there are other locations (outside of Disney) where you might have other options.

You can try Orlando Weddings and you can also try something at the Swan and Dolphin. You can also do a google search for "Orlando Weddings" and read through some of your options there.

I hope that helps!

The official answer is no, unfortunately.

In order to have a wedding ceremony of any sort at WDW, you have to go through the FTW department and either purchase the Intimate/Escape package (with the 4 night accomodation requirement) or plan a Custom/Wishes wedding.

The other 2 options you have would be having a ceremony at the Swan (where you have to purchase a package from Just Marry)

OR you could always do a ceremony at Fulton's Crab House on the top deck BUT you'd have to also have a reception there in one of their private rooms....I think the lowest food & beverage minimum they have is $500 for lunch.

This is not to say that I haven't seen people holding what clearly is some sort of casual ceremony on the beach at the GF but they always run the risk of a Cast Member stopping them and that's not something I'd want to worry about on my wedding day.

I have also heard of people renting a large suite at one of the WDW hotels and holding a small ceremony although there might be some vendors who would not participate in something like that and take a chance on hurting their relationship with the FTW department.

Thank you! This information really helps me. I can't wait to start planning!
