I have a basic question. I called member services but they couldn't help because their computers are down, so maybe the answer isn't as simple I as hoped. How do I calculate my 11 mo date? I understand that it is 11 mos from my checkout date, but is it as simple as counting 11 mos back to the exact date or is it a certain number of days? :confused3

It goes by month.

If your checkout was March 2, 2008 you could book today.

If you go to the My Points page on the member site, the top should tell you what dates you can make a home resort ressie & all others.

Yes, it is that simple. For example on the member's site in your My DVC vacation Points area today it will say....

• Currently, you may request a reservation at your Home Resort for vacations that have a check-out date before March 2, 2008.
• Currently, you may request a reservation at any Disney Vacation Club Resort for vacations that have a check-out date before November 2, 2007.

It's the 2nd of the month, no regard to months that have 31 or 30 days or leap years etc.
Happy Booking!

This link contains a "time between dates" calculator that precisely replicates the same formula that DVC uses to set booking windows:

http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

To calculate the earliest time you can call to make a ressie:

  • In the field labeled "Enter date to add or subtract from," put in the date you plan on checking out.
  • In the next field down ("Add or subtract, a number of years, months and/or days'), put in either an 11 or 7 in the "month" box, and change the field on the far left from "add" to "subtract"
  • Then click "calculate new date."

The date the site comes back with is the earliest date you can call.

Remember that if you are doing a day by day ressie to use the day after you will be checking in as the starting point for your calculations.;)

I am doing a day by day since I have to reserve a 2 bedroom and a studio. That's neat... thanks!
