Barry Manilow Refuses The View because of Rosie?

Tom Seleck sat through Rosie's rantings about gun control. Manilow is just afraid, and isn't a man in my book.
He wants to be surrounded by "yes women", with people who'll agree with everything he says. Poor guy.

Is he a "man" is anyones book? :lmao:

Barry Manilow-Yuck!! I'd rather have a root canal than listen to his music. I just flashed back to "Mandy". Please excuse me while I run to the vomitorium

I don't much care for the 'man' comments either. Just what exactly does that mean?

I don't see what the fuss is about. If Manilow doesn't want to appear on The View that's his choice. I'm no fan of his but I support his right to express himself as he sees fit.

I haven't read all the responses, but I'm not sure how many people on this thread that have commented actually watch the View and understand how the program is set up.

Barry Manillow was not going to be a special co-host and sit at the table with the ladies and discuss hot topics. He was going to be a celebrity guest. And many times when they are interviewing people, all of the co-hosts DO NOT sit with the celebrity and do the interview. A lot of times, only two of the co-hosts will do the interview. And the other two will do the next interview (now that they are back to 5 co-hosts, it won't work as nicely). And sometimes all 4-5 co-hosts will interview the person. So it isn't like he was asking that she not be on the show that day, he was just asking that she not be one of the co-hosts during his interview.

Just wanted to clarify that. Because I got the feeling some people thought he was asking to sit at the hot topics table and not have Elizabeth there. Men, usually aren't allowed at the hot topics table. Although, they did have Ross the intern once as a celebrity co-host.

You people are vicious. If Barry Manilow's not a man, then what is he? I hate when people are so closed-minded

And why is Rosie getting dragged into this again? I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I'd take her over Elisabeth ANY DAY. She may have been opinionated, but as least she knew that the earth was round  Yes, I still can't get over the fact that today Elisabeth defended the notion that the world may be flat, because her religious beliefs told her so. Oh man :rotfl2:

I think Barry Manilow has now identified himself in my eyes as a chicken! I cannot believe that he would be so silly as to not show up because he might have to talk to Elizabeth. That is such as childish way to handle that one.

Exactly, she is an employee of their show, nothing more. And if I go to a grocery store and don't want a particular checker, or bank teller, or food server, I am well within my rights to go to a different checker, teller or server area, aren't I?

That's not even close to being the same thing. It would be if you told the store you'd only come in to shop if they would not allow one of their employees to serve you while you shopped or conducted business.

From what I read on AOL, I thought MB refused to come on because he didn't agree with Elizabeth. Now, hearing my local news, it appears to be more about Rosie not agreeing with Elizabeth, and BM being Rosie's friend. Although I can't stand the show, and seldom watch it, I am glad they didn't let BM decide how the show would be run.

The days of Clinton?? He is part of the reason we have the mess we have. I'm sure not longing for those days. I support the President in what he is doing. No anger here.

I wasn't trying to say I wanted Clinton back as President and I'm not a fan of his, but I never thought I would rather see a sex scandal over what's being seen today. The Lewinsky scandal and the anger from both sides was tame, compared to what we have now.

My point is, America is divided and people are at each others throats. There's no anger from you because you like the POTUS and approve of the job he's doing. There's millions upon millions of Americans who don't care for him, the war, or how he got us into it. It just isn't a few people here and there that are displeased, it's quite a big number and can't be dismissed easily as some here try to do. In another year or 15 months, when about a 1000 more troops die, you will see the anger go up quite a few notches. I actually feel sorry for the person who takes over in 09, whoever it may be. There won't be much of a Honeymoon period, that's for sure.
