Is Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster too wild for my DS (2 1/2 years old). He meets the height requirement and loves speed - fast cars, etc...I am hopeful it is a tame coaster for him, but at the same time, a little worried that he will be screaming in terror once the ride starts to go. Does anyone have experience, and or advice? Thanks!

No advice, but I'm anxious to get opinions on this too. Mine will be 3 when we go.

Yes, it is a bit wild and fast, but it is over before you even know it! We LOVE this ride and the line moves pretty quickly. Try it...because really, before your child can even start to get upset you will be pulling back into the station! :)

depends on the kid. But my son had just turned three last time we went and it is his favorite ride! He went on it like 5 times. He still remembers it and is looking forward to going again. I'm sure my dd 2.5 will love it too. But they have no fear with rides.

DS was 2 1/2 last January, and he went on three times in a row. He loved it, and we all honestly enjoyed it (me, DH, and DD6). It is a VERY QUICK ride, so if your son isn't enoying himself, it will be over in a flash! Have fun on your trip!

My DD was 2.5 when she went on it for the first time and loved every minute of it! We rode it like 4 times in a row. It is a quick ride and would probably be over with before he could even get really scared.

My DD just turned 3 when she rode on it last year. She got scared but wanted to go back on.

Like pp's stated it is over before you know it.

Same here! My daughter was 2 the first time and she loved it! Rode it over and over! So many times in fact that CM gave her a frequent flyer card!

my 2yo loved it too. it is not a tame ride at all. it really is a rollercoaster. i enjoyed it.

I think it will depend on each child..my dd loves that ride, but my ds at 2 didn't enjoy it as much. He is not the daredevil that his sister is.

TBH, it was more intense than I thought it would be. We took DD on it when she was 4. The first ride we went on was the Great Movie Ride at MGM, and that just scarred her for the rest of the trip. After days of hearing "no" every time we approached a ride, we talked her into going on "Goofy's Train." I felt pretty bad about it. She wasn't too upset though.

Your DS may love it.

I guess I'll play devil's advocate. ;) Although the ride is over very quickly, it is very fast. DD hated it last year at 4 1/2. And she LOVED BTMRR, Splash, Test Track and Kali River Rapids. She loves fast, but said that the Barnstormer made her tummy feel sick. :confused3 Just food for thought.

It is much more rough than you would think! But, both my kids love it! My ds rode it for the first time this past Jan when he was almost 3. LOVED it!

My dd turned three while we were there and she just LOVED LOVED LOVED this ride. She rode it over and over again....probably 10 or so times. It was the ride she talked about the most and when grandma and grandpa picked us up from the airport she talked about that ride the whole 45 minute ride home!!! She also loved seeing the castle while on it! I say try it at least once, but I'm guessing he'll want to ride it over and over again.

no way,
great ride to start the little ones on.
I had my 2 year old with both hands in the air.
dont forget to ask for your
"first roller coaster card"!!!

my kid still treasures it

My 2 1/2 year old liked it. It was basically over before she knew what happened. But, as it was over it jerked forward a bit into the very final stop before you debark and her little face hit the lap bar as it jerked. That caused a few tears but overall a good experience. I would have never thought of that b/c those little ending jerks are so benign to us adults. Just something to be aware of.

I road this a couple years ago with me 2 yo. I had ridden it before with my other child but this time it scared ME to death! Because I'm "pooh sized" the bar didn't come down tight enough to hold my dd tightly - she slid all over the seat & I honestly thought I was gonna loose her even though I was hanging on with all my might to her. SOOO if I have another young one that wants to ride this ride I'm not gonna be the one riding - it'll have to be someone thinner than I that I can trust to hang on to my child...I honestly had never been so scared before...

As far as your question....
She did scream some but was mainly excited to ride the ride -she's just not afraid of most things - I'm sure though it would terrify many 2 yr olds...just depens on personality really.

My son's loved it since he first rode it shortly after he turned 2. It's a fun ride. However, when he was smaller like that, I always rode with my arm around him. My arm would take a beating, but at 2, he couldn't really keep himself from getting thrown around the seat and I felt better keeping him stable.

Just for the opposite experience- I couldn't even get either of my kids onto it at that age. Too loud/looks fast.... no way.

My DS tried it at 4. He was very nervous and did not like it at all. (He was fine with it by 7.)

I BARELY got my DD on it at 7. She was frantic most of the way in line (we kept telling her she had to stay in line with us, but DH and I would take turns if we got to the front and she opted not to go.) She did go on it in the end, but had no desire to do it again.

(We consider them the oddities in our roller coaster loving family. They must get this from DH's side :))
