Now that I lost this dreadful weight… I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD  ! I NEVER been there before and I’ll be going at the end of August… and considering I don’t fly my gf and I would be taking the train (from NYC). I have a few questions I did not get a clear answer from Disney so I hope someone knows:

1. Is it worth getting a meal ticket?
2. Does Disney offer bariatric discounts on meals such as a child meal?
3. Can we split a meal ticket?
4. Can I get a pay a child meal plan for me?
5. If I go to the buffet can I get it at the child cost?

Any help or TIPS would be GREAT...

OMQ: Does Dinsey Resorts pick you up at the Train Station?

1. Is it worth getting a meal ticket?

I'm assuming you're talking about the Disney Dining Plan. If you're eating light, I would have to advise no. It might save you more money to pay as you go.

2. Does Disney offer bariatric discounts on meals such as a child meal?

It all depends on the age of the individual. Now I'm sure you and your girlfriend would be able to split an adult plate. I hear people do it all the time.

3. Can we split a meal ticket?

See answer #1.

4. Can I get a pay a child meal plan for me?

It goes by age, so you would probably be charged for an adult meal ticket.

5. If I go to the buffet can I get it at the child cost?

Again, you would be charged for an adult plate.

If you have ANY questions, it being your first time and all, by all means call Disney! They'd be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions. 1-407-934-7639. :)

I also don't think they pick you up at the train station. You may want to have a car service or cab take you to the resorts. If you want to dazzle your girlfriend, call a limo. :thumbsup2

I would try a search on this subject because I have read on the DIS boards that Disney does offer a special service for this (Such as offering child size meals).

hiya,
we're in the same boat, vbg two years ago now!

eh, we ordered childs meals for me, but they were still too large so I mainly shared with dh.

the heat and humidity upset my stomach, I could barely eat, just kept a supply of protien shakes in the hotel fridge.

on character dining, I payed for a child's meal at crystal palace, but if you would rather not eat at all you can pay an entertainment charge.

next trip we're doing the dining plan, but only for dh, I'll share most of his meals or sit out and drink my shakes!

if you want to ask anything else feel free to pm me!

see, binky...here's my understanding...if you buy the DP, you MUST purchase it for all parties in your reservation. I considered buying just for BF, too but read here that that wouldn't work.

We're doing the DP (I had GB in March 2004) for convenience and I still LOVE food...I added it up and it still came out to be not more than we would have spent on one person eating anyway.

hmm.. our travel agent seems to think we can book for dh alone, if not I may try contacting wdw dining to see if I can buy the child's dining plan.
