Bargain M&M into Miami August (return by 19th)

Thankfully I have already booked. If I hadn't I would be seriously looking at these even though MAN is far easier, I just can't see anything from MAN is going to come near this deal but you never know.

Been trying to contact Virgin by telephone to see if they will do connecting transfers, not answering maybe all are watching the footie.

If I book the transfers with BA are they in the same terminal at Heathrow.

flown into miami many times it is absolutely fine, go far left near diplomat line for immigration.

car rental centre is excellent.

tbh we always stay overnight, many others did the 4 hour drive straight up

virgin is term 3 at LHR and BA is term 5

Back in July we book M+M Virgin fares to Miami for April - £1600 for the four of us. I was chuffed at that price.

Karen, quite a few people are flying to Miami now, this will be our first time and we intend to stay overnight and drive up early the next morning. On the way back we may do a couple of nights in Miami as we're going for three weeks

Just got back after doing the fly to Miami, drive to Vero Beach for an overnight and then coming straight back at the end

It works well.

The car rental at Miami is fantastic (all companies in one big centre). Our little secret is the Holiday Inn at Vero Beach - lovely big rooms right on the ocean for about £100 the night and they have a great restaurant right on the beach. It just feels like the holiday is started. OOOh to be back there...only 2 weeks ago...sniff..sniff

On the way back did the journey WDW to Miami in 3.5 hours - that was fairly 'pedal to the metal' but its a straight forward drive - you know that when TomTom says 'continue on this road for the next 210 miles'

You use 2,000 miles per person to get a discounted fare, usually into Orlando you get about £50-£100 discount, not great compared to previous years.

These fares into Miami are giveing upto about £300pp discount

Just compared some random dates for 2 adults and 2 children without using miles £2,711.88, using miles (8,000 for 4 people) £1,589.88, average under £400pp for Summer school hols is a great price.

I phoned flying club today, as we too prefer Manchester. YOu can book connecting flights with BMI to LHR from MAN and pay cash for the flight or if available you can use 12500 miles for the internal flight.

Still deciding what to do, as we have a Europe Cruise on hold with Disney for summer 2011. But flights from LBA to BCN are 600.00 for the three of us there.

Phoned Virgin yesterday to book flights, I asked if we could book flights from glasgow so that we had a through ticket, told that i could, then they changed their mind saying that the system wouldnt allow them to do it.

So I need to book seperate flights from glasgow to London first. First flight is 7:00am so think this would be plenty of time to make the flight at 11:50 or should I book a hotel for the night before.

When VH book connecting flights they always allow at least three hours for changes, so i would do that.

When we went to LA last year, we had a four hour connection, the plane from MAN was delayed for 1 hour and it took at least 1 hour to walk between the terminals, as we had never been to LHR before. Needless to say, we didn't ahve that much time between arriving at the correct terminal and starting to board. We had about 1 hour for a meal and then we were off for boarding, only to have to wait and sit and wait on the plane for another hour due to ongoing delays. This was in August due to weather patterns!!

I wouldn't put up with the inconvenience of 3 hours drive to London then 4 hours Miami to Orlando (and back again) at £550, possibly at £437. Glad I am booked and don't have to make the choice

That's what's putting me off to be honest, But at least the girls aren't little anymore (but they can still moan and whinge like they are )

It's just the price is sooo within our price range and with having our eldest in her 1st year at High School and the youngest due to go up next year, this is the time of year we're going to have to get used to
