Bare Escentuals QVC 11/8

Bare Escentuals website has Todays Special Value on QVC starting at Midnight Friday 11/7. I hope its something good. I love this stuff. They are on several time on Sat 11/8. Hoping to replenish with some great buys. I love getting the kits off QVC you get so much for so little. Last one I got had at least 10pcs for $50 bucks plus shipping.

My mom gave me some of this to try....while I do like the coverage and the fact that it stays on all day.....how do you apply it without making such a mess? Maybe it's me...but after putting it on there is powder residue on the counter and my shirt...etc. What a mess.

Plus my mom told me that a small container would last me for EVER....ummm, I've went through 2 in a month, am I wearing it too heavy or is that normal? I think these are the smaller containers? Samples maybe?

I don't put mine on while dressed, it does get everywhere.

One regular container from the site last me about a month and a half. You can tell if you are putting it on too heavy, if you can see it then its too much. When your brush is "seasoned" it doesn't take any at all to get coverage.

I could not stand the mess and started using Philosophy The Supernatural, which is the same type of formulation but comes through a puff on top of the jar. No mess.

However I use BE Raw Minerals cleanser, which I love.

I love the kits too. But I hate that they usually have "warmth" in them-I don't like warmth and never use it. I have about 4 jars of it unopened.

It is about time for me to reorder my bare escentuals, but I remember the thread about it last year where a lot of people liked another cheaper brand. I forget what it was, can someone remember which one I am talking about? I believe it was an online brand, not one at the stores. Thanks! By the way, mine also makes a huge mess, but it does last me along time. Six months or more, can't remember when I ordered last. Even the small bottles last me awhile. I think the warmth I have is well over a year old. Finally time to reorder that too.

Even if Everyday Minerals products were more expensive than BE, I would still buy them because I like them so much better. EM doesn't make my face itch like BE does.

I do like BE's brushes better, though.

I got 2 months out of each of the 2 small containers that came with my starter kit. I ordered a ffull size container of it and I've been using it for 2 months now and there is still enough for at least another month.

I must be using too much then.....but just putting it on lightly and it wasn't covering or evening out anything.....oh well.

I just checked out the other site and noticed they have an 'intensive' line that is supposed to cover more. I have HUGE pores and psoriasis breakouts from time to time so I ordered the free kit from them and I'll see if using less helps Thanks for the link!!!

Same for me - the big pod lasts 5-6 mos. You have to tap the brush off before you swirl. I have a small brush?? can't remember technical name but i dip in the foundation first and put it on any really red spots on my face - I have a birth mark on under chin which I want covered - under eyes etc. I think it covers really well. It does get on the pods etc - not on my clothes though. Less is more once the brush is broke in

I noticed on the everyday minerals site that they sell a puff jar that you can put on your mineral makeup to use it that way instead. Might be an option if I seem to get the same mess from it.

I think part of the major mess was that my mom let me have one of her brushes that she didn't use and it's a BIG one. It doesn't really fit down in those sample jars very well so it was sloshing it over the sides. Everytime you'd try to tap it, again....it would tap it right on the counter or wherever....as it wasn't the right size for the jars. The brush is a MESS now....because all the side bristles would get crunched up when I'd try to put it in the jars. Oh well....maybe I'll like the coverage of the Everyday Minerals since it's a heavier coverage with the same light feel and less makeup.

I've been using Bare Minerals since August, and I LOVE it. It's true, less is more. You have to keep the little seive thing on the jar and just tap a little bit into the lid, then dip the brush into the lid and swirl. There are how-tos on YouTube that demonstrate this real well - you might want to check them out.

Also, someone said about using the concealer brush and dipping it directly.. this is what I do. After you moisturize your face, pick up a little of the powder directly with the concealer brush (don't swirl) and dab it on any red spots or blemishes. Then, use the kabuki brush and do your whole face.. then use the concealer brush again on any blemishes that you still see. Follow up with warmth and then mineral veil.

I just ordered my first non-sample jar. The sample jar that came with the kit lasted me two months.
