Hey all,
I’ve searched but can’t find an answer so here goes…

I’m planning on doing express walk off in Barcelona to go to the airport. Does anyone know if there are DCL transfer buses waiting that early? I’ve heard some horror stories about long waits for taxis and want to avoid that. I always use DCL transfers for Port Canaveral but Barcelona is new for me. I’m not adverse to using a taxi but just trying to figure out my best options.
Thanks

I did this last year May - yes, Disney busses were there but they don’t leave right away,
I did express walk-off and took a taxi to the airport. While we were scheduled to start debark at 0800, guest services said debark would likely start around 0700. We got in early at 0545 and walk-off started at 0650. I was in line to walk off early, I think around 0615, and got in a taxi right away, no wait at all. I was at the airport by 0725 so before the crowd of the first Disney bus left port as the first Disney bus was scheduled to leave at 0730.

Do taxi take cash or credit cards? We are going to Barcelona too but staying for 2 days .

My understanding is that they take visa and Mastercard. Others types are a maybe.

Thanks!
Were there lots of taxis? How long was the line to get one?

There were several taxis lined up, and more arriving as mine pulled out. Since we were starting to get off an hour prior to the posted time in the app, there may have been more taxis waiting as the morning progressed but I don’t know since I was already out of there. :earsboy:

And since I was off quickly there was no line and zero wait. I had an 1130 flight, Disney recommends no earlier than 1230 or 1pm, so I wanted to be sure I wouldn’t be waiting & would be on my way as soon as possible. So I opted to skip breakfast in both the dining room and cabanas; I’d gotten a yogurt, a banana, and a croissant or roll the morning before and had them in my cabin, so I could have a quick breakfast before leaving. I was in the atrium at 0615, third in line in my line. There were maybe 50 or 60 people total waiting in the lines when the first walkoffs were able to start, so that all helped with having no lines for taxis. Everyone in that first wave who wanted a taxi was getting one as soon as soon as they walked up to the taxi area.

There was a gentleman helping with the taxi assignments, as in he’d ask how many in the party and how much luggage, so smaller parties got a smaller taxi while larger parties got a van, which I thought was nice for all. He’d wave up your taxi, luggage got loaded and then on the way. One thing- the taxi driver asked if we needed to go to terminal 1 or 2. My airline app had that info, so I could be dropped at the correct terminal.

If you first board in Barcelona, ie not a back to back with the transatlantic, there is no customs or immigration when debarking since you’re already in Spain from your airport arrival and will exit Spain at the airport. So it is a quick walk through the terminal to exit as you don’t need to stop for passport control. There will be three choices/ ways to go for transportation - Disney busses, uber, and the taxis. Just keep asking for the taxi line as you pass different people until you get to it.

The one I used, I paid cash , as I don’t see a taxi charge on my card. I can’t remember if I asked if a card was OK.
