Is a 12;50 PM flight out of Barcelona cutting it too close on disembark day? TYIA!!!

That depends on many things.

1. Transatlantic flights need 3 hours before flight at airport.
2. Short Haul Europe flights need 2 hours before flight at airport.
3. How will you be travelling to the airport?
4. Do you have checked bags for the flight?
5. What passport do you have, EU or non EU?

If you apply for a VAT refund, that will be a separate line and will take some time.

Very easy to do, especially if you do express walk-off, and take a taxi, I was off the ship by 0730, at the airport, VAT refund via the kiosk which is much faster than in person, and thru immigration & security all in less than an hour for my 1100am flight. The airport was very empty especially if you get there before the first busses.

Thanks, but I wouldn't bother with this. We wouldn't be buying copious amounts of merch.

US Passport, No checked bags, private taxi. TY!

Just be aware, that non EU passport lines have increased due to Brexit, as all UK passport holders now have to go through the non EU lines.

With a private taxi it will be the most direct way, but you still need to allow for traffic.

European Airports are busiest in the 6am to 11am time period and then in the evening time. From 11am to about 3pm is the quietest time.

Even though you dont have checked bags, you will still have to join the main check line with everyone else.

My standard is what Disney Cruise Line recommends.

“As you plan for the final day of your voyage, please note that Disney Cruise Line recommends guests arrange flights on their debarkation day no earlier than 12:30 p.m. when departing from the Barcelona International Airport. ” - PlanDisney, April 2023

Your 12:50 should be okay. Definitely do what you can to expedite your ship disembarkation, but it’s reasonable to expect you will make your flight, all things being normal.

Shouldn’t be a problem, it’s past the time Disney recommends.
I had a 1.30pm flight out after a cruise, was off the ship at 9 and despite quite a line for a taxi we were at Barcelona airport by 10ish, bag drop and security were busy but I still had almost 2 hours waiting around for my flight

Here's my data from early June 2023:
We had a scheduled taxi pickup for 9:30 am. I highly recommend prearranging a pickup as the taxi line was never ending for our cruise. The first photo I have in the airport is timestamped 11:13 am. This would have been after doing VAT tax drop off & security. We fly carryon so didn't have to worry about luggage drop off.

I would do it and try to get the earliest disembarkation time you can. If yours is later, then carry your bags off first thing.
