Barcelona flight...

I have priced this many times and always found flying UK>USA a return ticket is better value, than singles, hence why I do not go on transatlantic repos.
You could go on both TA repos, and get one UK>USA roundtrip ticket.

Woody

As long as you have a ticket each way, the price is right, and the times work for you, go for it.

I just checked this web site. They are showing the same flights that my TA booked for me yesterday....only flycheapabroad is charging $564, and my TA got the flights for $474!

Wow!! My TA said that flights right now for us are looking into the $1500 per person range!!! :scared1: Maybe I need your TA to help me out!! :)

We are looking from Indy to Barcelona and the cheapest that I have found is around $900! We are on the May 15 sailing. Where are all of those $400 fares?!

Mary,

I have a daily ticker that runs on my laptop that lists today's fare...it's supposed to "ding" me if it drops below $600...I have heard of some using consolidators, not too aware of those things...I am flying out of Atlanta so I'm focusing on Delta/American...historically the lowest ATL-BCN last year was $400's...so if I can get that I will!! :) I will post here as soon as I find a good deal, but don't expect them to pop up until it's within 90 days of travel.

HTH!
Tara

how do you get the daily ticker. Looking for flights for the transatlantic in sept from Florida

FYI..I was researching Iberia (the Spanish airline) and wow it bombs. It sounds horrible. I think I will stick to US companies:rotfl:

we were on iberia for 2007 to med and they were terrible, they refused to give my mom oxygen , we had tried for 5 days ahead to arrange it , since we didn't have their paperwork they refuse to give her oxygen, will never fly by them again. Thank God she was able to get oxygen once we got on the next leg of the l fight run by american

Try looking at onetravel.com. They specialize in one way flights. We just changed our September 4 day on the Wonder to bring the Magic home and are looking at flights. They have some (802pm EST on 11/7/09) starting at 451 per person - this is from Atlanta, and again going in September.

Now I just have to convince myself that this really is what I want to do... and that it is OK to only have 5 hours in Spain, and it is OK to take the kids out of school for a week...

Quick - someone twist my arm!!

Take the kids out of school for a week, but for heaven's sake, spend a day or two in Barcelona! My kids have wonderful memories of incredible places, and they made up their schoolwork too. My DD17 is taking a geography class this year, and one of the first assignments was to list all the places she's been to. The teacher read the lists out loud; when he got to hers, he said "wow!", shifted it to the bottom of the stack - saving the best for last, lol!

Yeah I agree. We were first slated to take the 11 night and the way that schedule worked out we would not have been able to take an extra day or so for Barcelona. We had to change the cruise and wound up on a 10 night in Aug. We lost the extra sea day (but paid the same as the 11 night in may...go figure:confused3) but we were able to add in three nights in Barcelona so that is exciting!

Thanks for all the help and comments! Now I am playing the price game. We are 11 months out and the flights are around $110 from JFK. So hopefully the price go under $1000 in the next month!

I had been watching Toronto-Barcelona flights for awhile, they were above $3000CDN for sometime for three of us (two adults, one child), including taxes and surcharges We are going on the May 5th med cruise.

Today, I checked KLM's website, they have a fall promotion on...so I got the three of us for $2600CDN, including taxes and surcharges. I didn't want to pass it up in case it goes back up again :scared1:

It's an overnight flight leaving Monday May 3rd, get into Barcelona around noon on Tuesday..we already have a room booked through Disney to stay the night before the cruise. :yay: The flight on Saturday leaves at 1:30pm.

I am trying to remember with airline, could have been Delta/American/KLM...but they just this week put out a special from NY to Barcelona for around $447...travel could go through May 15...there were also specials from Atlanta but those had to complete travel before April 2nd or so....I really need the Atlanta flight...so keep your eyes peeled....go to their websites and click on international sales or specials right now...if I find the link I'll post it!

Thanks!
Tara

RDU= Raleigh/Durham, NC

oh don't tell me this! we are flying out of RDU in May, but I don't know if we will do it with airfare that high. I am trying to be patient and wait until after Christmas to worry about flights. I am hoping other posters are correct that prices will be much cheaper 90-120 days out.

BA in particular tend to have sales after Xmas, Late February, Easter, May, late August and a.n other in the fall. Sometimes the "sale" will be business/first class only (like the one that started today) but most include economy.

I would strongly recommend not buying a BA or Virgin ticket unless they have a sale on - best way of finding out when they have a sale on is to sign up for their newsletters on their websites.

Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2 I was going to book our flights for September 2010 tomorrow, but I think I'll (try to) hold off until the New Year now. :hippie: Especially since one-way ticket fares run so high! :headache:

Hey Woody - I like the way you think, but I'm sure my DH would object to 2 cruises in 1 year!

I just checked Aer Lingus & they have a one way flight JFK-BCN for my Sept Transatlantic for $470! :woohoo:

If it's any help to anyone, british airways have a sale on all cabins (booking thru to 14 November).

I've read that Virgin and various other airlines have followed suit and closely matching/undercutting the BA sale prices.

Worth having a quick check to see if there's anything decent out there at the moment.

Need help! I'm not a pro at booking flights...we only fly maybe once a year. I went to aer lingus and I searched for May 25th from JFK to BCN and this is what popped up...

Tuesday 25 May 2010
USD Departing Arriving Flight Duration
433.97 JFK 17:45 Tue 25 May DUB 05:15 Wed 26 May EI104 10hr25
DUB 06:40 Wed 26 May BCN 10:10 Wed 26 May EI562

Can someone help me with these times of departure and arrival? :confused3
