Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

cobblestone shoes.. eek! :cutie: hehe.. hope plans are going well for your wedding still? :bride:

Wedding plans are coming along really well. Have achieved quite a bit this January. Still lots to do though, but am having so much fun planning along the way :goodvibes

Love your hen party invites, so cute :cutie:

Yay for getting the suit sorted, sounds really dapper :)

Are you going to book Remy for your Cruise? Looks soooo good :)

Love the favors-- especially those cookie cutters! I'm sure the ladies will appreciate them! The bracelets are gorgeous, too.

Your favors are adorable! I LOVE them. =] I really wanna get the girls some kind of Disney jewelry for the day of, but IDK we'll see. Just due to the fact that I know NONE of them will ever rewear them?

But good for you! =] The toppers & cookie cutter idea is so original though! So jealous I didn't think of it first! ;D

This is awesome!! A great idea...

Your lucky fellow deserves a pat on the back.. Hes one lucky man as you are truly stunning!!!

I wish you both all the best, and with all the happiness you desire...

Hi! thank you for reading & an amazing compliment lol! :cutie:

Awww, I LOVE that song from Meet the Robinsons! So glad you decided on that as your song!

I am sooo pleased that is going to be our first dance song! I know most of our guests won't know it.. but it's got a good beat to it (not too slow) and I hope people will focus on the lyrics more as it's unfamiliar? My family & cousin know it anyway! :goodvibes

You're getting so much accomplished! :worship: We went to look for the men's attire this weekend too! I think we've got the looks picked out and we've got the suits reserved and got Miguel measured. Now we just have to arrange for the groomsmen to get measured. I think we're going to end up just buying Miguel's tux instead of renting his like the groomsmen, so we'll still have to do that, but at least now we know exactly what to look for. :thumbsup2 We also looked at rings a little and got his size.

I love your first dance song! :cloud9:

I'm so pleased it's 2011 now and the wedding planning has really kicked in! :goodvibes, Steve has a tuxedo (think he bought it for our university graduation ball back in 2006!), but the suits he's having for the wedding having morning jackets.. short at front and long at back .. is that just an English style for weddings? I'm not sure hehe.

(bit like this..)

Glad you like our first dance song! did you know it before? .. I've read through the lyrics a few times now and it's just perfect :cloud9:

Followed you over from the June 2011 board. You're wedding plans look absolutely wonderful. I love the top that you have in your photo. It is really pretty. What great gift ideas sticking with a true Disney theme. The necklace for your bridesmaids are really cute and like you said, very subtle. I think everyone will love what you have picked out. :cutie:

Hi, thank you for reading along so far!

I was a little worried that the favors are just a bit 'too' Disney.. but then, I'm known among all of my friends & family as being a 'disney girl'.. and it ties in perfectly with our honeymoon destination! :cloud9:

Thanks Stefy.. I met up with some friends yesterday and had texts from others, all saying they love the hen party invites! just waiting on the RSVPs to start coming in! :goodvibes

Yes we are definitely hoping to book Remy on our cruise!! both that and Palo look amazing.. we won't mind at all paying the extra $s for meals there.. not sure I'll do the wine-pairing at Remy... $99 more?! ;)

I have read reviews recently on Disney Food Blog about the Dream's restaurants.. I'm excited to try all of them! :cloud9:

thank you! originally, I was going to do the cookie-cutters for everyone.. but as my Mum pointed out.. that would end up being 2+ mickey cookie cutters per family! so she suggested the aerial toppers for the men.. great idea I think :thumbsup2
we're really pleased with the bracelets, they are so nicely gift-wrapped too, I have pink glittery gift bags to put them in

Thank you! ... I'm pretty sure both my sister & DF's sister will wear the necklaces again, they often wear Mickey-shaped earrings! :cutie: I'm not sure about my cousin, she'll wear it on the day.. but the last few years she's being going 'off' Disney.. I think she sees it as a thing for kids :confused3 ? lol
(and you are welcome to use my idea for favors.. sure someone else has done it before me hehe!!)

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

I'm really excited because tomorrow... I'm going to see Tangled! It just came out at the cinema on Friday here, so my sister & I are going to see it, in 3D too :thumbsup2

We love the look of all the restaurants on the Dream. Are in two minds about Remy though, whilst the restaurant looks and sounds amazing the food is a bit out there. For instance the bison sounds yumma, but the blood orange sauce and fennel is kinda off putting.

What other restaurants are you going to try?

Have fun at Tangled, its a fantastic film and you will love it :teeth:

just caught up with your blog!

really enjoying it! cant wait for more! x x

Hi Stefy, you were right.. Tangled was excellent!! I'm so glad Disney is doing some more fairytales/princess movies again.. I enjoyed 'Princess & the Frog' and now 'Tangled' soo much! :lovestruc
My sister has lent me the soundtrack and I've been listening to it non-stop all week!! :cutie: .. Rapunzel could possibly be my favourite princess now.. I think I would be her if/when we go to a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party :cutie: I'd really like a pascal plush toy, but they don't seem to be selling them at the Disney Stores here? :confused3

For the Disney Dream.. I agree the Remy menu looks a bit 'out there'.. but I'm excited to try some foods that maybe I wouldn't normally order! Steve loves programmes like Master Chef, so I'm sure he's going to really enjoy Remy, Palo and V&As.
As we're going on a 5 night cruise.. I'm hoping to try all three of the other restaurants (Royal Palace, Enchanted Garden & Artist's Palette) as well as the two signature restaurants.. fingers crossed I get the reservations & our rotation works out okay!

Hope everyone's had a good week.... I've done a few wedding-related things.. we paid the deposit for the florist, I've bought ribbon & some silk flowers to decorate the flower girl's basket... and I went to the bank yesterday to draw out the funds I'd put in a savings bond for a year, the interest's been paid now so it was time to get the money out - ready to pay all the various suppliers as & when they need paying! :goodvibes

Today DF & I visited Southampton - it's about 45 minutes from where we live, and also the place we went to university and met!! :lovestruc It was lovely to be back there and reminisce about uni days.. hard to believe it's been nearly 4 years since I graduated, and 7 years since we met!

Emma princess: x

Apparently Tangled is the last Princess movie Disney are going to make :( I so want to go see Tangled again. What was your favourite scene?

We went to the Disney Store straight after the film as I wanted to see if they had a Pascal, but they didn't which is weird as you always get the little sidekick plushes in merchandise. Ohe well can always get one from WDW instead :teeth:

Yay for paying the deposit for the florist, starting to get closer now and things that were in the works are all coming to fruition :goodvibes

5 night cruise? Didn't know they did 5, very cool that you get to try out each restaurant, they all look so good :teeth:

yup I heard that too about Tangled being the last princess movie for a while :sad2: never mind.. we still have Winnie the Pooh, Pirates 4 & Cars 2 to look forward to this year! :thumbsup2

I think we're quite lucky to be on a 5-night cruise.. I just happened to pick it because it begins 3 days after our wedding date! When I've been reading about the cruises online & in the Birnbaum guide book, there isn't much mention of 5-night cruises... I'm fairly sure we're going to get a Pirates night though - DF says we should hire proper costumes for that!

I'm going to be looking for a Pascal beanie toy in WDW this summer! I can't decide if I like him or Maximus the most.. both excellent side-kicks :thumbsup2

Hi Sweet girl!

Lots of fun updates... spent some time this afternoon catching up :) Looks fantastic and stunning. I for one (of course) cannot wait to see the pictures!! Its going to go so fast now, it will be here before you know it.

Havent seen Tangled yet, but now I think I might have to. Isnt Mandy Moore the voice of Rapunzel? Hmmm...

:) Glad to be back!

Hi, welcome back! :cutie:

I would highly recommend Tangled - I'm obsessed with the soundtrack now & can't wait to see it again! yes Mandy Moore is the voice of Rapunzel - she has a really good Disney princess voice :goodvibes - I can barely remember her pop songs from 10 years ago?!

Hi all!

I have a few wedding updates to share..

My dress is ready for a first fitting! :yay: - I've booked an appointment for next month to go try it on.. so excited to try on 'my' dress rather than the shop sample :goodvibes .. my cousin is going to come stay with us for a weekend so she can come with me.. soo excited!

and... the bridesmaid dresses arrived at the shop yesterday! :goodvibes we're having a 'bridesmaid day' next month, so it's nice we can include a dress fitting too!
For the flower girl, the lady at the shop said to get her measurements & then they will order the dress for me - it'll take a few months to be delivered & as she lives quite far away, I don't think we'll get an opportunity to take her to the shop to be measured!

I'm going to my parents' house tomorrow to make the invitiations with my Mum! it's going to be quite a long process but I'm really looking forward to it :cloud9:

Hope everyone is having a nice Valentine's weekend - Steve & I went out for dinner last night & it was really fabulous, we had champagne too! :lovestruc

Emma princess: x

Oh my gosh Emma, this is so crazy - my girls' bridesmaids dresses came in yesterday too! That is so weird they came in on the same day!

I'm so jealous your dress is in already! I have another two months probably before mine is in. I know what you mean about trying on "your" dress. I can't wait! And, I can't wait to hear how your fitting goes! :goodvibes

Hi Emma

I just caught up. Your plans are really coming together now - I love the idea of the favours. So cute to get a cookie cutter - I would love that!

Your bridesmaids presents are lovely too - they are very lucky girls. You are going to have such a wonderful day.

Glad you liked Tangled. Jonathan, Amber and I went to see it a couple of weeks ago and all loved it. I agree with you about Rapunzal!!

Have you started your new promotion job yet? I started mine on 17th January. For my new desk I bought all new pink stationery and put pink and silver diamantes all over it! I will take pictures for you to see - you will really appreciate it.

Sara xx

Yay for your dress fitting next month, you must be so excited :teeth:

How are the invitations going?

I'm so excited to try my dress on.. on the look out now for shoes .. hoping the shops have the spring/summer ranges in very soon!

Hi Sara! nice to have you 'back' :goodvibes

your desk sounds lovely! I was speaking a colleague about my wedding the other day, she asked what colour the BM dresses were going to be, when I said "pink" - she replied "oh yeah... you like pink don't you? everything on your desk is pink!"
Yes I started my new role a few weeks ago, I have a lot to learn but I'm really enjoying it... :thumbsup2

How are the invitations going?

Hi Stefy! can't wait for next month's dress fitting! will be nice to see the dress again lol.

Invitation-making day yesterday went very well! It took much longer than I imagined, so glad I had my Mum & sister there to help me... we got a little production line going, and they are now all completed and... in the post today! :yay:
We still have evening invitations to hand out to work colleagues, but they can be left a bit longer.. I wonder who's RSVP card will be returned first!

I'll post some photos soon, my parents also gave me package of things from WDW that I'd requested :wizard:

Hi Emma,
I have now read you full PJ. Everything is just gorgeous, it has been a real treat to read everything. I am honestly so excited for you and Steve. :goodvibes

Hi Brenda!
Thank you for joining in & your kind comments.. sure you can tell I'm thoroughly enjoying all this wedding & honeymoon planning! :cloud9:

Honeymoon Update

Just a little bit of news really, but we've paid off another chunk of the Grand Floridian balance this month, hope to have it all 'paid in full' next month! :yay: - this is the first experience we've had of paying off a WDW trip bit by bit.. as usually we're using DVC points! ;)

and... our wedding invitations have been delivered today (had various texts & facebook messages from friends & family telling me!) - and .. already... we've had a gift on our Disney Honeymoon Registry!! :wizard: - we've set one of these up rather than a traditional gift list, I'm so amazed that a guest has already been on the website and bought us something!
We now have a snorkel excursion on Castaway Cay to look forward to :goodvibes

Emma princess: x

Good for you for getting another chunk of the GF paid off! :woohoo:I've got this big Poly balance hanging over my head that we're hoping to pay off soon. We're planning on using the tax refund for that, so hopefully it will be a good one!

Yay for the honeymoon registry! That is so sweet that someone has already made a purchase! :cloud9: What kinds of things did you include on there?
