Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

Thanks girls.. think I'm going to get that watch for him as a wedding day gift! :goodvibes

(Courtney.. I think I read the wording for the note in a wedding magazine lol, you should use it too if you get Miguel a watch! :cutie:)

Pretty quiet weekend here, I have read 10 more chapters of my accounting syllabus.. exciting!! ;)
DF and I went out for lunch with his parents today, had a nice chat with MiL-to-be at wedding dresses etc! Oh and apparently, DF's older sister has already bought her dress to wear to our wedding!! now that's organised lol.

40 weeks to go!

So.. it's official...

We're staying at the Grand Floridian on our honeymoon!! :yay:

I spoke to our TA yesterday to confirm the deposit to book - she is so lovely, sounded genuinely excited for us to be booking our honeymoon hehe.

I asked her about making room requests to Disney (like higher floor, buildings, close to transport etc).. and she'd already written all of that on our reservation! Great service :thumbsup2
She's emailed me through an ADR form to fill in - I have some ideas where we'd like to eat, but I need to wait for park hours to be released really, and catch DF in a 'Disney mood' so he'll discuss dining plans for a vacation that is over 9 months away

Next to book will be the flights.. we're doing those ourselves, probably fly Premium Economy with Virgin Atlantic.. it's quite pricey (£600 each extra on top of the regular seats ) but I think the perks are worth it - separate check-in, 3 course meals, complimentary champagne on boarding the plane.. and those big comfy leather seats! :wizard:

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Oooh .. and today marks 12 weeks til our December holiday! :santa:

Yay for booking GF, such a beautiful resort :)

:yay: for PE, its so worth the extra money right :teeth: You going to try and get seats in the Bubble?

Congrats on booking the GF! That is a major step!

:banana::cheer2:

yup it feels like a big part of the honeymoon is definite now! :wizard:
I'm looking into the Honeymoon Registry website at the mo... I can create an account now that we have that reservation number :cloud9:

yup I'm hoping to book us into the 'bubble'/second floor seats on our flights! :goodvibes... we had planned to book the flights using "miles plus money" using our Virgin air-miles.. but turns out we can't combine my account miles with steve's miles?! :confused3 never mind!

wow - details are getting bigger and better as time goes on! You guys deserve it, so go crazy ;) Ive never flown VA before, be sure and post some info and report on that too!

Love the watch idea. I sent one to my DH on the morning of our wedding as well, with a note and some Patron tequila for taking shots with his groomsmen. Love the idea of course ;) He can think of you all the 'time'. :lmao:

Super cute updates!

Your TA seems great-- very helpful!
I love flying Virgin!! We've flown both Atlantic (when we go to London) and America (just flew for the first time going to Vegas)-- it's amazing! I love the TV's! Plus, the stewardesses are so sweet! I can understand upgrading to the nicer seats-- it's your honeymoon, you deserve the luxury!!

The Bubble is fun and quiet, hope you get good seats too :goovibes

Are both you and Steve Flying Club Members? If so, you can use Miles Plus Money as thats what me and Dave did this year, I used from my account and Dave used from his. I did it over the phone though, made it easier.

yup we're both flying club members... we used some from my account this year to save on the flights to NYC and back from MCO :thumbsup2
But for the Premium Economy seats, we need about 15,000 miles.. which we almost have between us but the split isn't equal as I have more than Steve (I set my account up last year but didn't do Steve's til this year, d'oh!! :headache:) ... maybe I'll phone up and explain the situation, they might take pity on us! :goodvibes If not, we'll get loads of miles from booking PE seats.. save them up for 1st wedding anniversary flights! :cloud9:

I spent some time at lunch today updating my wedding spreadsheet.. the 'Honeymoon' tab has got too busy, so it now has it's own separate spreadsheet :surfweb: such a geek!!

I've also signed us up for the Disney Honeymoon Registry.. our gift card is on it's way!

Oh so you wanted to use all of your Miles to pay, rather than Miles Plus Money? You can buy Miles at the moment and how ever many you buy you get 15% extra on top.

Lol, love that the Honeymoon has it's own Spreadsheet, but then being Disney it has to really doesn't it

I stayed in a MK view at the GF!!! It was AH-mazing! You will love waking up to the sights and sounds of the castle/MK!! Loved every minute of it. You could see Wishes and also the Electrical Parade on the water. :goodvibes

It's so exciting! Even DF (who is not into this Disney planning thing at all hehe) said "Excellent!!" when I told him our hotel was booked for the HM :goodvibes .. I can't wait til he finds out we have an MK view.. he's not asked yet - I'll try wait til we get to the resort.. I might burst before then though! :cutie:

Congrats on booking the GF! :cheer2: Your travel agent sounds like she's really on top of things!

She is really great! Next step will be ADRs and other reservations.. but that won't be until December :santa:

Emma, what is the "bubble?"

PoppyGirl :flower3:

Hi! The 'Bubble' is the upstairs section on a 747 plane - they're the planes that Virgin Atlantic mostly use for the transatlantic flights..

Virgin_Atlantic_Boeing_747.jpg

The windows upstairs (behind the cockpit) are the bubble seats.. it's meant to be really nice to sit up there :goodvibes

Thank you so much Stefy.. I rang VA on Friday to talk through our fliying club miles... the lady said it was absolutely fine to use my miles for one booking, and then buy Steve another few thousand miles for the other seat :thumbsup2 - we'll buy those extra miles before October to get the 15% extra!

Yup we're going to do "miles + money" for HM flights.

:yay: v cool, glad that worked out :goodvibes

I just received these from a fellow DISer, TooExcitedToSleep (Tom - he was on the July 2009 threads!)

I'm hoping to print them onto magnets (some how!) to stick on to our stateroom door on the Disney Dream cruise!!

We got those name tags from Tom for our honeymoon too!! I found very thing, printable magnet paper. It was very helpful finding our room down those loooooong hallways! BE CAREFUL though, someone actually STOLE Tom's name tag off our stateroom door!

I don't have a picture of our door but here is the loooong hallway!

Great news you have almost enough miles to book M&M flights to fly PE, although just wanted to warn you incase you aren't aware. In late April/early May i think it is Virgin are using new planes (A330's) on the LGW-MCO route, I think it's just the first flight out on certain days of the week and the plane doesn't have an upstairs so theres no bubble, so if you really want the bubble make sure you book the later flight out or the earlier one on day they will still be using the 747 :)

Awesome tags, are you going to do fish extenders too?
