Hi, Emma! Wow, you guys seemed to have a fabulous vacation!! Seems like that kind of relaxed, no-plans trip really suits Steve's family better!
We lovee Virgin Atlantic! That's what we fly whenever we go to London. Plus, in a week and a half DBF and I are going to LAS VEGAS and we booked a package deal through Virgin America. We got an amazing deal at a beautiful resort (Caesars Palace) on the strip-- our airfare was super cheap and we have great flight times. Seems like VA treated you guys very well, too!!
I would have freaked out if that crab made its way that close to me-- crabs, lobsters, etc. really freak me out for some reason!

Yes it was a much more relaxed trip with the family this year - there were still some tantrums/minor upsets.. but nothing like getting marched out of Universal Studios with no lunch, like last year! lol

Have you joined the Virgn Flying Club? I just read that they've added Virgin America flights to it.. it's a frequent flyer thing, DF & I have used some miles this year to get £160 off our flights to the US.. and I should have enough miles after Barbados to upgrade to Premium Economy seats for honeymoon!

Hehe, I thought of you and other Saints fans on here when I uploaded that photo of Steve!! I'm sure he'll be taking both his Saints shirts & baseball cap to WDW this December.. especially since I've pencilled in Sunday afternoon at ESPN cafe for him because I know he'll want to watch the game!

Thank you, it was a nice place to be for two weeks - it's been hard to get back into work this week!
The football (soccer) season has started again last weekend so I now have lots of time to wedding plan while DF is glued to the games on tv!

Yes I can relate to that! I am once again a football widow. Although it does give me lads of time to spend on here getting ideas for our wedding so can't complain too much!!!

Yes definitely take some chocolates for the cabin crew on your flight - we did the same on the flight home, although we didn't get the 'vip' treatment again, the stewardess did come to say thankyou & shared out the chocolates between each galley

For my wedding hair.. I'll probably wear it down, straight-ish with a few waves & some held back away from my face.
In my head I'll have Jennifer Aniston's wedding hair

(but my Groom is sooo much more wonderful than Brad Pitt!!!)

Twice during the vacation in Barbados, DF's Dad said "I wish we'd gone to Disney this year" ... , they seem to have rose-tinted glasses! lol. DFM definitely prefers the caribbean though, she muttered something about "Florida cost twice as much as this holiday"

A few wedding planning details! ...

Photographer

We've decided to book the photographer that we met with a couple of months ago, we really liked him & his prices seem reasonable He's sent us a contract and we're going to send it back to him with the deposit asap!
We're getting a storybook album with two smaller albums for our parents, and the photographer will be with us from 12pm - 8pm (ceremony is at 2pm).

Honeymoon

DF's parents have already said that they'd like to pay for our honeymoon, and today DFD gave us a cheque for it!! It's very generous and will easily pay for the Cruise and a lagoon-view room at the Grand Floridian; maybe even a Magic Kingdom view room!! so then we'll just need to sort out our flights and spending money - we're hoping to do a Disney Honeymoon Registry instead of wedding gifts too

The Dress!

This Saturday, my Mum and sister are coming over as.. I have three bridal shop appointments!!
I have no idea what style of dress I think I want, so I'm just going to try on all the different styles and see what looks good! My Mum and sister will be really honest with me too, they are great to go shopping with.

Some parts of the wedding I've thought so much about - stationery, music, honeymoon etc - but the dress I really don't have a clear idea about!
Originally I thought I wanted something strapless & fitted, then quite a big gathered skirt.. sort of like this..

But I don't want it to be too big and meringue like?! Guess I'll have to wait and see what looks nice on Saturday!

Ooo, be sure to take lots of pictures dress shopping! I'm sure you'll find something beautiful-- I think it's good to be so open-minded! I bet you'll know when you spot "your" dress!

Have fun at the bridal shop tomorrow Question, do bridal shops frown on picture taking when you are trying on dresses? I have booked an appointment to go check out some dresses beginning of Sept and I would love to take some pics, but the store I am going to is in a very prominent part of London and not sure if I can take pics

I'm not sure about photos in the bridal shops... other PJs I've read, it seems people have had to take quick photos on camera phones as it's 'frowned upon' so I'm not sure! I'll take my camera and see what they say tomorrow

Glad you had a fab time in Barbados, it looks beautiful and will have to remember the chocs for cabin crew in future though why don't they just take their own with them?

And Emma, OMG you are a bad bride - not put much thought into the dress? seriously it's the most important part of the day, I had mine picked out before I was even engaged, infact when I still thought i'd never be getting married
Hope you do get to takes some sneaky photos tomorrow, though it's not easy and I've not been in a single shop (apart from where i ordered mine from who said you're not meant to, but made a point of walking away and saying if she didn't know then couldn't say anything ) where they are happy to let you take photos, which is silly because you like to look over them and get a better idea of which you prefer on you.
You have to check out Maggie Sottero dresses, they are gorgeous

How lovely of Steve's parents giving you the money for the honeymoon, hopefully that MK view will happen
