Bar Riva - kid-friendly food?

We'll be headed to WDW next week as a group of 5, 3 adults & 2 kiddos (under 5).

We're staying at Boardwalk, so on arrival day I was thinking we take the skyliner over to Riveria and grab a drink or 2 at Bar Riva, probably around 3-4pm (not looking to eat a meal).

Looking at the menu Disney published, there doesn't seem to be much for (my picky) kiddos to munch on, whereas other sites & blogs have a more extensive kid-friendly menu for Bar Riva - I'm not sure what is accurate, or whether we could bring fries or chicken strips over from Primo Piatto or something.

We're not looking to stay for hours on end, really it was to give the kids a thrill riding the skyliner, and then hang out for an hour or so before heading back, since I heard the drinks were pretty good.

If it isn't in the cards, no worries, not looking to rock the boat...we can skip it and spend the afternoon in our resort pool and nobody will know the difference (except me!).

There are plenty of tables near, but not necessarily in, Bar Riva. Maybe you can hang at one of those and grab kids meals/snacks from Primo Piatto?

I personally would not bring outside food into a different restaurant. Easiest just to find a place where everyone can get something.

when we were there, the bartender actually brought food from PP if you wanted it. It was during Covid so limited menus might have been the reason but they do share the same kitchen.

They serve kids meals at bar riva! My mother ordered a kids cheeseburger lol! But it is really a small open air pool bar, I can’t imagine they’d be upset if you brought something in for the kids and just tipped nicely on adult food and drinks. They can probably serve you the kids meals from PP as I imagine it’s the same kitchen, they’re right next to each other. There will be people standing just feet away in line for drinks to take into the pool, it’s very casual. There is a lot of nice seating by the water so you could also your food from PP and grab a drink (and/or food) to go from Bar Riva and just sit by the water too, then you can watch the skyliner go by!

Thanks for the info! I didn't know how "formal" Bar Riva was - it sounds like its similar to walk-up pool bar, not a sit down type of place, so we can make something work.

Appreciate all of the replies!

As an FYI- The actual Bar Riva area is all covered, actually has heaters for those cool nights, can probably seat around 30-40 comfortably, about 8 seats at the bar, and several tables that can be moved around. My favorite bartender from the Gurgling Suitcase moved over there when the Riv opened. Always made a point of wearing one of my Gurgling Suitcase t-shirts and telling him I wished they had a Bar Riva shirt. Still haven't seen any. Nice place. It also has a nice view of the childrens swim area as my grandtinker played there while me the wifey and daughter took turns playing with her and having a libation. Our last drink we just took to go in plastic cups and sat on the lounge chairs in the childrens pool area. Grandtinker loved that area. Will always treasure that time in our lifes even though we had to wear masks everywhere but eating drinking and swimming.
