Banking Windows for 2007 UY points: Explanation and Chart

Hmmm ... now I'm confused. Does that apply to contracts with add-ons at different resorts? For instance, if someone had an April UY with 200 BWV points and 100 SSR points they could bank 150 points in any combination by the end of 2007? My UY is in August, so the 50% thing doesn't effect me but I'm just curious on how it works.

You're correct that with an August UY the 50% window no longer applies to you.

Lisa gave a great explanation of how it works under the current system. It's because DVC has apparently had a number of guests who didn't understand all this, and got caught not being able to bank points, that they changed the banking rules effective 1/1/08.

It's both good and bad. Good in that the 100% window goes from 6 months to 8 months. Bad in that the final window (25%) use to go all the way through the 10th month, but now the final window only goes through the 8th month.

Bottom Line: We all gain 2-months of a 100% window, but lose 2-months of the final banking window. For any Use year month, the percentages look like this for each use year's 12 month timeframe:

I'm a newbie with an August UY and thought I had until March to bank but when I logged onto mydvc.com, it said I had until the end of Jan to bank 100%. I guess that was under the old rules and after 1/1/08, the web site will have the new dates.
 
My Guide told me that the time for NO BANKING is actually 120 days from the end of your UY. Many abbreviate it by saying 4 months, but that's not exactly correct. For example, our Sept UY will give us until May 3rd to bank, as opposed to April 30th. This may seem petty to some folks, but it can make or break banking ability in certain situations.

If this info is incorrect, I don't mind being contradicted - the correct info is the important thing. :)

DVC actually published it as 120 days, but also has said 4-months. A number of reports have come back saying it's really 4 months. This was discussed a lot in an earlier thread last month. (Click Here)

I wrote an Email back then asking DVC to clarify, but never received an answer. Even though your guide said 120 days, I wouldn't count on it.

Drusba did receive a response from DVC as reported in this thread that the new banking window goes through the end of the 8th month. That is you cannot bank during the last 4-months. This would indicate it's not 120 days as your guide said, but is 4-months.
