Banking Question

Hello Everyone,

I banked my Dec 2020 points last year July. I made a reservation for Thanksgiving 2021 and then we took a trip in March of 2021. I had to cancel our upcoming Thanksgiving trip. When I go to bank my points it only shows 10 available to bank rather than the 100 that should be there. Any thoughts if it used the UY points for the March trip and the banked points from 2020 for the Thanksgiving trip?

If you booked the Thanksgiving trip before you booked the March trip, then the banked points were allocated to the Thanksgiving trip. Current UY's allocation of points would have been used for the March trip. Unfortunately, there is no way to reallocate points once a trip has been taken. So if this was the case, it makes sense that you might only have 10 bankable points after canceling your November trip.

That is the tricky thing about trips in that the first trip booked, even if it is later get the banked points.

The other thing that could have happened is if you booked March trip before you actually banked those points. If so, then the March trip would have used regular points since you had not yet banked.

Once banked , the system will not adjust on its own. You have to call or reallocate on your own at least 31 days before the trip.

As noted, since the trip already happened, nothing you can do to go back. So sorry.

Unfortunately it was an impromptu trip and would not have had the 31 days to have them switch the points around.
