Banking points and having a reservation question

For some reason, this is confusing me and it should not. We have a reservation at AKL in late August. My account has an Oct use year. When I look at the available points to bank in May, the points shown “available to bank” will have taken into account the already reserved vacation. Yes? In other words, DVC will not let me accidentally bank points that have already been used to reserve an upcoming visit?

Yes.

Correct. DVC subtracts the points committed to a reservation (when it is made) from those categorized as "Available".

Basically, if a point is "in use," it cannot be banked.
