Banking New Points?

I added on recently. My estimated closing date is not until the first part of Feb. I would like to call and reserve a vacation towards the end of Januray and I will need some of these points to make the reservation. The problem is I need to bank the 2009 points before I can make the reservation. The DVC web site says these points are not allowed to be banked at this time. Has anyone ever encountered this? I assume it is because I have not closed, but I still need them to make my reservation. Any ideas? I asked when I talked with the people after I got the paperwork and he said it was no problem, but I am not so sure since he was not the person to do the banking. Thanks in advance!

Since these points were recently purchased, member services should be able to bank them for you right now.

Did you buy direct from DVC or by resale? What is your use year?

I bought direct from Disney. My UY is Dec. and I was given 2009 points. I have already banked a few 2009 points from my original contract, but I assume I will be allowed to book these as well. Do you typically have to bank them all together or because they are on seperate contracts can I bank them seperately? Thanks again!

You can bank them separately. When I bought 10 years ago, you had to wait until closing to bank but I think that's changed now. When I bought, I made a reservation with current points and then called after closing to reallocate it to use the banked.

I just recently added on and received 2009 points, past my banking window. I called Member Services the day after I added on and was able to bank my points. This was before I closed. I would suggest calling Member Services.

Call MS. The computer probably does not have a way of knowing whether or not points are new vs. old so the statement is just a general one.

MS should be able to help you.

Member Services can bank your recently purchased points for you before your closing date. MS has already banked my add-on points and I haven't even sent my contract back yet.
