Banked Points ???

We recently purchased a contract that had 2004's points banked and an August use year. We closed mid August and we have last years points and now this years. I don't want to use these until next year. Can I keep them all banked until next year? When will I need to bank this year's points so I won't loose any of them? Thanks!!

You have to use the banked August 2004 points by July 31, 2006. You can bank 100% of your August 2005 points through January 31, 2006. That way those points would be available to use from August 1, 2006 through July 31, 2007.

You should start thinking about those points that expire next July. You can make a reservation with them now.

Points can only be banked once, so your banked 2004 points are now in your 2005 Use Year. They cannot be banked a 2nd time into 2006. Sometimes a chart will help. For August it looks like this:

Use Year.....Vacation Timeframes
2004.....Aug 1, 2004 through July 31, 2005
2005.....Aug 1, 2005 through July 31, 2006
2006.....Aug 1, 2006 through July 31, 2007
2007.....Aug 1, 2007 through July 31, 2008
2008.....Aug 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009

As you can see, your 2004 points were banked into 2005 and must be used by July 31, 2006.

You can bank your regular 2005 points into 2006 if you want. As mentioned your 100% banking window expires Jan 31, 2006 so you need to decide before then. If you bank your regular 2005 points into 2006 then you MUST use them sometime between Aug 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007. They cannot be used any other time.
