banked points question

We currently have our next vacation set for June 2013. Of the points we are using, 150 are banked points from 2012. We found out my husband will be transferring back out to California next summer (not sure if we will go in Jun/Jul). My husband called MS to inquire about those banked points from 2012 if for some reason we would need to cancel. He was told we could put them into an RCI account for up to 2 years. I have never seen any mention of this on these boards so I figured I would ask if anyone can shed some light on this. We surely don't want to lose the points and will figure out a way to use them, but it would ease my mind if I knew we did have an alternative. TIA

With a June UY, those banked 2012 points would need to be used during your 2013 UY if staying DVC--so by May 31st, 2014. If you can't use them, then yes, I believe you can deposit them to RCI and it extends use for two years.

And May 31, 2014 is nearly a year and a half away. I'd try to find a way to use them at DL or WDW instead of banking into RCI.

Ok, this helps alot! So, we have up to May 31st 2014 to use the banked 2012 points, that's no problem. Yes, we will be living less then two hours from DL and plan on many trips there. I grew up with DL myself so that's home to me. Thanks for clarification!
