banked/borrowing question

Howdy all,
We have 190 points banked from 2009 with an aug Uy On Aug 1 we get another 261 points in our bank. My question is this ,we want to use 298 points for a july trip and then 77 points for a sept trip ,Is this possible ad how do we arrange it?

It sounds as though you have banked your current points and have none available until August 1.

For a July, 2010 trip you can only borrow the 261 points you will get with your 2010 use Year on August 1. You will not be able to use any of the banked points for that trip. Since you will be 37 points short, you might want to see if someone can transfer that many points into your account - or just pay cash for as many nights as the 37 points would have been used.

You will have no problem with the September trip , since you will be able to use the 190 points banked into the 2010 Use Year. You will need to use all of those 190 banked points before July 31, 2011 since they cannot be banked again and will expiure on that date.

thanx Doc, so in other words if i delay the trip till after aug. 1 i''ll have no issues with the 2br. at OKW.

Yes. On August 1, you will have 451 points to use for trips thru July 31, 2011 but only 190 that could be used earlier than August 1, 2010.

Your 2009 uy runs till July 31 2010 How come you banked so early? Seems to be a lot of confusion about uy's Maybe someone needs to post some helpful info.

I was just on a thread where the people thought they couldn't use 2009 points in 2012 when in fact they could because it really wasn't 2012 according to their uy.

I'm not familiar with the thread you are referring to, but even with a December Use Year, 2009 points could not be used any time in 2012 for stays at DVC resorts.

December 2009 points are good thru November 30, 2010 - unless banked to extend their use thru November, 2011. Points from 2010 could be used in 2012, but not any earlier Use Years.

Exceptions would be if banked points from 2009 were then banked into the World Passport Collection in 2010 - which could extend their use into 2012 - and in some situations where a Disney cruise is involved.

We weren't planning on using these points, my niece and her family asked if they could use them this summer
