Bank and borrow in same year? (point transfer question)

Hi there,

We're a bit confused, and wondered if someone could help us. We purchased at BLT last December, and our first use year was Feb, 2009. We borrowed some points to upgrade to a MK for our trip that we just returned from, so we're now about 40 points short for next year.

I am looking into having someone transfer some points into our account now to make up for that. Their points expire in May, 2010. If I get these transferred, can I then bank them so we can use them next October, 2010? I know you can bank points that have been transferred, but I wasn't sure if there was some weird technicality that may stop us since we're already borrowed some points into 2009 at this point. Can you borrow and then also bank points all in the same year?

Any help is appreciated!

I have banked from and borrowed into the same use year with my own points no problem (banked before the deadline, but then needed more points now, so I borrowed)

Essentially they treat each point individually (not a general account restriction like transfers - you can only have one transfer per use year in or out). Each point for each year can either be borrowed, used or banked.

So, while I have not done so, you should have no problem banking your transferred points...

I've banked and borrowed in the same year. I banked my remaining points to make a reservation for the following year, thinking I would not be making any more reservations for that year. Then a couple months later I decided to go to DL, so I had to borrow.

No problem, the only thing you cannot do is to borrow transfered points.
