I'm volunteering to work a stand outside Fort Riley's concert featuring Cheap Trick tomorrow. I won't be staying for the concert as I don't know who Cheap Trick is - I listened to Disco growing up!

don't they sing that song "I want you to want me, I need you to need me, I'd love you to love me, oh I'm beggin you to beg me??"

I'm a youngin, so its just a guess :)

Dont forget "The Dream Police". I loved Cheap Trick back in the 80's. If you go to see the movie "Daddy Day Care" the daddies are having a carnival to raise money and Cheap Trick is the band playing there.

I LOVE Cheap Trick! They've got great music. Add on Pat Benetar, Fleetwood Mac, etc. :teeth:

Night Ranger is also going to be there - I don't know them either!

Cheap Trick also sings Surrender, which you have to know if you've ever seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High. (Your mama's all right, your daddy's all right..they just seem a little weird...)

Night Ranger is good old 80's metal, if I'm not mistaken. :)

I love Cheap Trick. I saw them in 1979 with Sammy Hager. I used to have a crush on Robin Zander, the lead singer when I was in junior high. Now I guess he's just old like I am.;)

Wasn't that The Knack?

My brother is a huuuuge fan of Cheap Trick - seen them 40 something times since 1980. Ridiculous. I'm only 25, and I've seen them probably 5 times - once at House of Blues in Orlando DTD!! Good rock - classic - never have compromised their talent for trends in music.

You should definitely check them out - they rock!!

Night Ranger -- they do "sister christian".. 80s! woo!

After Cheap Trick you might forget about disco:D

Hey, I liked disco and Cheap Trick. lol

Cheap Trick had a big song out called The Flame and they had a remake called Don't be cruel in the 80's

Night Ranger had songs named Sister Christian and When You Close Your Eyes

Might be worth it to stick it around...They're both good...:)

The Flame is my all time favorite song.

I love Night Ranger :)

Stay and enjoy the concert, you might be surprised and like it ;)

Cheap Trick is one of the greatest bands to ever come out of the midwest. (Chicago-area, I believe.)
They're a LOT more than "Don't Be Cruel" or "The Flame." Those are good songs, but they have dozens and dozens of great, great songs.
As someone said, "Surrender" is probably Cheap Trick's best - and one that I consider maybe one of the best rock songs ever.
"Southern Girls" is incredible. So is "I Want You To Want Me," (That's the one everyone knows from the Live at Boudakon album) "If You Want My Love," "She's Tight," "Up the Creek," "On Top of the World," "Mandocello" - the list is very long.

Definitely check them out. They are a great band.
I've seen them four times over the years, and actually hung out with them a bit when they played Hampton Beach (I was a bouncer at the club.)

Great band. Saw them in the early 80s....haven't thought about them much recently.....

Another bit of Cheap Trick trivia - they wrote the theme song for "That 70's Show". They come from Wisconsin where the show is set.
