Banana boat rides

We did the banana boat in May. It was a lot of fun. At that time, they pulled you behind a jet ski. On our Jan trip, I noticed they were pulling you behind a boat instead of a jet ski.

Word of warning is to wear some sort of shorts to protect the inside of your thighs. You bounce up and down, and there's a lot of sand on the "banana", so you end up with an UGLY rash! Also swim goggles would be a good idea because the water splashes in your face!

My DH took the fishing charter this time. It was pricey ($110) but he caught some really great fish. The hooked into a couple of BIG sharks and everyone on the boat got to battle!

Enjoy!

We did the banana boat ride on our July cruise and enjoyed it. We had four adults and 4 kids (ages 8-10), everybody loved it. One of the girls didn't want to go too far out and the driver was considerate of that but we still had a great time. You get a wonderful view of the ship.

We all wore goggles, had read that somewhere on this board. I didn't think about the shorts, we didn't get a rash but I can see where you could.

For the price, it was a nice little "adventure" for us.

Hang on for dear life!!!! It is a blast, but you really bounce like crazy. Our group was a riot. We had our 5 and 5 more from another family. We were all screaming and laughing the whole way out and back! People on the ship were on their verandahs taking pictures and laughing at us (We had the last time out of the day, around 3:00). It was perfect then, because, we just went right to the ship after it. They took us out past the ship and stopped for a bit so we could catch our breath and then back screaming away!:p :p

I was 41 years old and it's just a once in a lifetime for me! That was good enough, LOL.

Oh, and I wore my sunglasses with the strap on the back and that worked fine. My kids wore their goggles.

We just returned from our 4 night Wonder. I booked the banana boat twice for the guys in my family, one at 10:30 and another at 3:00. They loved both times, but said the second was bouncier and wetter. We also did two getaway packages that included two floats, two sets of snorkel equip. and two bike rentals. They didn't really check to see whose name was on the tickets. DS8 and DS13 did the snorkeling and DS13 and DS15 did biking. No one really used the floats because the water was a little chilly to just lie on top of it (cool breeze blowing). There were plenty of floats and bikes (I didn't see the snorkel equipment area) so I don't think I needed to reserve those ahead of time.
