I started Weight Watchers on Thursday, February 16th, 2006.

My starting weight was exactly what I expected it to be. I'm 100 pounds over where I was on my wedding day in July of 2004. We honeymooned at WDW, and while it was a bit rough, I was able to handle it.

Our next trip will be in December, 2006. I want to (safely) get as close to my wedding day weight as possible before this trip.

As you can imagine, exercise is difficult for me. My MIL has offered my DW and I a very nice treadmill, though. Now I just need to find a way to get it to our house.

My DW had gastric bypass surgery in 2003. However, she has reached a plateau, and is starting to gain some weight back, so she is very supportive and we will both be making the effort together to eat healthier and exercise.

I will take all of the encouragement I can get.....it's going to be a long hard road, but I know it will pay off in the end.

BamaBaloo, You are on the right track by joining WW and this board. I belong to TOPS and the weekly weigh ins do help. Tell your DW to keep on track.. 2 yrs. ago I lost 30# and put 25# back on and finding it very hard this time to get motivated. We try so hard to take it off but it goes back on sooo easy. Best of luck with your weight lose and keep on posting with all of your results. Whether good or bad. We all have set backs. We are only human. :grouphug:

:welcome: and Congratulations on taking the first steps towards a leaner and healthier you! You can do it! I think you will find a lot of great support here on these boards. It is also great that you and your wife can work on this together. It has been really helpful to me to have support at home and online. All of the extra accountability is Very motivating!
Glad you are here! :sunny:

Welcome to journaling!
i think that this is a great step in losing the weight--i know it always helps me when i read and post on my journal--it is always great you and your wife will be doing this together-im sure that will help!!

Well, I made it through the weekend with no slip-ups. It has been tough, especially getting myself off the caffeine. DW made a couple of great WW recipes over the weekend, and I have managed to stay within my points every day so far. Also, even though it is killing me, I am drinking lots of water. Now if I can make it until weigh-in Thursday night, I should see some good results.

Being on a diet really sucks when you have a nasty cold. Mine started yesterday, and I'm a total wreck today. I sorely miss my comfort foods (Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Pizza, Coke), but so far I have stayed the course.

Stay on course!!! You can do this!! You have the support of your DW, DMIL, WW and, of course THE DIS!!! :cheer2:

Hang in there!! I hope you feel better...cold's suck worse than diets!!

Well, I managed to hang on through my bout with the flu. No cheating at all. Tonight is my first weigh-in at WW. I'm excited, but also very nervous. I don't know what I will do if I haven't lost any weight this week.......

Welcome to journaling. If you have a tough week at the scales, do not give up. The great thing about WW is you just can start over again. There are no punishments if you dont lose weight every week. You will have weeks that you dont lose even if you stayed on track. That does happen. Good job also while you were sick. Those comfort foods can be a real killer. I almost succumbed to eating a hot fudge sundae last week and then thought twice about it. I went home and ate a WW ice cream and felt much better about myself for it!! You can do it!!! Have a great week.

My first WW weigh-in was last night. I lost 12 pounds in my first week on the plan! Yay me! I know that's not typical, and I know it will probably never happen again. But I'm so happy! Now if the clothes will just get a little looser........

party: Way to go on the weight loss! Here you were thinking you might not have lost any and lost 12 pounds! :sunny: Feels good to get that first chunk off don't it! :cheer2: Keep up the good work!

Congrats on the 12 pound loss!!! That is so great! :thumbsup2

You did awesome this first week. You felt weak when you didn't feel well, and you journaled. I'm not sure if that is the only reason you didn't cheat, but I think it probably helped! I know it always helps me to journal & read other people's journals.

Keep at it!! We're here for you (and your wife)!

Thanks for the encouragement! Heading into the weekend, which is the toughest part of the week for me. I tend to structure my eating on weekdays more. I'm going to try to do a better job of structuring my meals for this weekend and not just freestyling it....LOL

Good idea on the structuring meals thing. I plan out my whole menu for the day, including snacks and give it at least a ballpark time for each. Then throughout the day I may make adjustments, but I'm usually on track. I have blood sugar issues, so I make sure I have a small meal or snack every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. This keeps my blood sugar stable and I dont get hungry at all. Good Luck!

Congrats of your weight loss!!! :cheer2: It really can be tough to stick with it especially on weekends. That is usually my downfall as well so I know how you feel. Keep your focus and figure if you can get through the flu while sticking to WW, you can get through anything!

Well, I made it through another weekend. I did a much better job of planning out my meals this weekend. Even went to a party on Saturday night and managed to stay from the spread that the host put out. Supposed to be a beautiful week here with temps in the 70s all week after today. Time to start getting some exercise!!!!!

Doin' Great!! Keep Up The Good Work!!

Well, tonight will be Week 2 Weigh-In. I have done well, food-wise. The only thing I haven't done as well on this week is water consumption. I've basically been doing a big glass of water in the morning, with lunch, with dinner, and one after dinner this week. Last week, I was getting at least another glass in the morning and one in the afternoon. So we'll see if I'm getting enough.

Wish me luck!
