Last year one of the magical experiences that made our vacation was getting ballons at the checkin at All Star Sports, they had little mickey head weights to keep them grounded which we saved and still use on a regular basis for balloons.. the kids loved them!!! It was one of those freebies that make a vaction. Do they still have the baloons and weights???

I don't think they do this on a regular basis, but more of on a whim. When we stayed at BWI/V most mornings there no balloons but sometimes there were. I think maybe it depends on how many are checking in. I wouldn't count on it though. In all my stays I think I've seen this three or four times tops.

We got ballons once when checking in our son and his family at the All Stars. They had had a horrible, terrible flight down to Orlando. A cnacelled flight that forced them to have my daughter-in-law's mother drive them three hours one way to Cincinnati to puck up their schedule connecting flight. Then that flight was delayed and then the connecting flight to Orlando was delayed. Plus, my daughter-in-law is terrified of flying and was only doing it to save a fifteen hour drive.

Anyway, when the kids finally got there, I was checking them into the All Star and told some of this to the Cast Member. She went over to the balloons and gave my granddaughter a bunch and said they were for everyone putting up with all the delays getting to Disney World. Not expected but it sure perked everyone up after a very frustrating day.

So the ballons may still be there but giving them away to everyone isn't a normal thing.

1) EVERY resort has balloons, except AKL (dangerous to animals).
2) They make them up behind the Front Desk (back room).
3) If you want one-two-three-etc, just ask.
4) The helium balloons
. . . some have happy sayings
. . . some say Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, etc
. . . some have characters
. . . some have the resort name & logo
. . . they all have the heavy plastic weight to keep them from flying away

Me & one of my friends were going to WDW. It was here first time. So I called POP like two days before & told them that this was a very special trip for her & that it was her first time. I asked if they could do something real special for her. The said they usually only do something like this for birthdays, etc but they'd see what they could do. We checked in without any special treatment, then we walked into our room & saw this on the bed...

She actually cried! I was so excited that they did something special for her first time to WDW, even though she was 22 at the time. It was magical! :wizard:
