Sitting here waiting for the parade to start (one hour to go), and I'm listening to the balloon vendor. As he sells each one, he says "please be aware that holding one of these balloons may cause stress to your forearm, cause damage to your shoulder or hurt your arm should a strong gust of wind pick up."

For real! I don't know if he's pulling the customers leg or if Disney really has to say this to avoid legal trouble. It's funny either way.

Holding on to that bundle of balloons could be a real job hazard on a windy day.

Boy O boy if it's a windy day just think of the stress to his forearm. Not to mention the damage it might cause to his shoulder or even hurt his arm.

Holding just one balloon?

Maybe it's a real disclaimer.
After seeing this sign in DTD, I'm not sure:

You'd be surprised where you see that sign pop-up. I have seen it at every Starbucks I visit. By CA law, they have to post this, the store I work at does too. Usually it's posted at the door, but my store posts the sign and lists the merchandise effected in each department.

Prop 65 is a law unique to CA I work in retail at a store that sells crystal and dinnerware. You would literally have to crush up the glass and eat it for it to have an effect...or let your wine sit in a decanter for days and days and days (and really, who does that? :drinking1 ) for the chemicals to leach out.

Really? We have nothing like that here.
Sorry for posting it then. I was surprised but it looks like it was just me.

Aahh, good old California. The most regulated state in the country.

It's a California thing. Hey, at least we're informed when we're in CA! In other states we have no idea. :)

That sign is everywhere in CA. Once you become aware of it, you will realize its everywhere you go. And then you won't even notice it anymore. Welcome to CA. Have you seen the amazing ocean view? :)

I'm in Hawaii. We're not informed about anything. We're deprived, seriously. No In and Out, El Pollo Loco, Red Robin, Trader Joes, Aldis, and a slew of other places we like to visit when we travel cause there's nothing here. We were supposed to get a Olive Garden but that hasn't happened yet

But ........ you're in paradise! And true paradise like Hawaii, has no stinkin in and out, El Pollo Loco, Red Robin, or even as much as I like his cousin Trader Sam ;) Trader Joe's! Because, Hawaii doesn't need or want any of those businesses. It's bad enough that years ago, the islands have pretty much been overtaken by the haoles!

How I would love to be in paradise right now .... :)

Heeheee!! I took a photo of the sign on our recent first trip to DL too! I'd never seen it before either!

So Disney is bad for my health. Oh well..... what a wonderful way to go. :)

You don't even have to live in California to see those warnings. Most products you buy from Cali will have that on a label.

That sign is found just about everywhere. Even my grocery store has one.

That is literally everywhere and on almost everything in California. My company even bought some new work trucks in California and they even came with that disclaimer on them, haha.

That sign is everywhere here! I never notice it anymore, and I didn't know that it was noticeable to people not from here! :p

I don't notice it anymore either. They are always on things I would never imagine eating anyways. Like mailboxes... I don't plan to stand around and lick the neighborhood mailboxes.
