Balloon costs at Disneyland

When we went to Minnie's for breakfast, they had the balloons (with little weight thingies tied to the bottom) in the entry area. They told the girls they could each pick one (they did so while I paid for the meal). I'm guessing they wouldn't have complained if I had taken one as well. We tied one to the stroller and the other to my mom's wheelchair.

Well, we have a different experience. Last February we bought each of the kids a $12 light up balloon as we left the park. We drove back to my in-laws in San Diego with them, and the next morning the balloons were on the floor. They lasted less than 12 hours and we were over an hour away and couldn't go back for a replacement.
I cringe at the $3 Diet Cokes, but somehow that wasted $24 galls the most.
