I hope this is understandable. I'm trying to determine which resorts have mostly private vs open balconies on their studios. That is, the sides of the balconies are open vs. have panels. For instance, I've noticed that AKL, Kidani, BCV, Poly, and VGF all have panels so the studio balconies are private. However, at BRV, last time we were there, the balconies were all open, so that you could wave to anyone else sitting on their balcony (Granted, that was many years ago). As I remember, BWV was pretty mixed, but mostly private. It's just that first thing in the morning, I sometimes open the balcony door and step out-I don't feel comfortable if there are people next door viewing everything. So where are there open balconies?

We had an open one at BCV last stay, but we were in an odd room I think, the balcony was sort of oddly shaped. There was a section in the middle like a slice of pie in between us and people next door. LOL.

I can't answer your question but I understand. Once we were at a resort, don't remember which, and drinking coffee and a bagel, the next door guest came out on his balcony. I felt like I was showing bad manners not offering him a cup of coffee.

BWV, the HA studio i had shared the patio with its neighbors.

No dividers at Boulder Ridge.
That's too bad. In the many years since we've been there, I was hoping they'd changed. That's one big reason why we'd probably choose CCV when staying there-IF we could get it.

There aren't dividers at BRV because they aren't contiguous. There's a gap between each balcony. I think that holds true at a few resorts.

I know they are solid panels between the lock-off rooms (1 bedroom and a studio) at AKV. Not sure about the others though. Our SSR room also had the solid panel on the one side (we were on an end, so the side facing the parking lot was open).

I think there are DVC rooms which have balconies with an overhang (CCV and BWV maybe?). I thought that was what you were going to ask about. I don't know if they're private, but the view is partially blocked. And I think there was a thread on here about the rooms with the worst views. So if spending time on the balcony is important to you, I'm not sure "open versus private" should be your only consideration.
