As a DLRP-expert, I have just come to realise I don't know the situation with taking a bag around WDW parks.

At DLRP you have to take your bag on all rides with you, and the few that go upside down you have a net under your seat to put the bag in (Although I prefer to loop my backpack straps around my twon legs and keep the bag under my legs so it cant go anywhere.)

At Universal Hollywood, bags are completely forbidden on bigger rides and you have to use awful fingerprint scanner lockers for the rollercoaster there.

What is the situation at WDW? Am I ok to take a backpack and take it on all rides with me?

If not then are fannypacks allowed on rides? I really don't like lockers, as I like to have water/medication/camera in line with me.

I have been able to take bags with me on all rides. I have never had anyone tell me I couldn't. Almost all rides have a mesh bag of some sort to stow bags, although they may not all fit.
I know Tower of Terror doesn't have bags for items so I just held on to my bag for dear life.

You can take a bag on the rides with you. I think it's best to take a bag you can strap around you ( a little backback) so it doesn't leave you on the more jarring rides.

Haha, thank you!! I couldn't believe how much my bag flew around on ToT at paris! I was SO scared on my first ride and trying so desperately to hold on to the ride but had to grab my bag too - scary times!!

After that I learnt to make sure it was well secured so I could concentrate on holding onto the bar for dear life!!

On our last trip we went on Splash Mountian. In the past the grandparents held the stuff but this time they were in a different area of the park so we took our bag and just before getting on the ride my DH crossed over and set the bag along the wall. Nobody must have seen him because when we got off it was gone. We were not totally panicing, we would never leave our camera or anything (that was with me) but it was our sweatshirts for that night. We asked a CM if they saw it and in a quick second security was there. They told us that since 9-11 you cannot leave any bags unattended. They had already gone through our bags and saw that it was harmless, but asked us in the future to not leave any bags unattended. We appologised, we understand why, just had not been in that situation before.

So, to answer your question, you have to take your stuff with you or leave it with someone not riding.

We had no problem taking a large-ish messenger bag with us on all the rides...we did the loop-the-strap-around-your-leg trick for the more "intense" rides and the squeeze-it-between-your-feet for the less intense ones...and for EE and Rockin' Roller Coaster, we did both. Because I worry too much. But it was totally fine, and the bag didn't even *think* about moving on any of the rides. HTH

Haha!!

When I went to DLRP I made my boyfriend hold my bag on TOT, so I could put my hands in the air! :rotfl:

It was his first time, and since I get motion sick on spinny rides, he thought that it must be lame and easy. The look on his face on the ride photo was priceless! He could hardly speak!

Congrats on the engagement by the way :thumbsup2
