So, now that the Express Transportation Option has been cancelled, my sister and I would like to try a bagless day. Just 2 ladies, 60+, no kids, no husbands.

How much stuff do you really need to take with you to the theme park?
Can you carry a water bottle in with you?

What do you other Dis Pros do?

I'm curious too. The most I've "down-sized" to is a small cross body bag that simply holds the bare essentials such as phone, money, sunglasses (prescription, so can't just keep them on my head), chapstick, ....
I've tried cargo shorts but just not quite enough room.

I have to say that we just got back from a 2 week trip and with the new bag screening system we never had to wait that long to get in anywhere. Disney truly did a good thing with changing where they check your bags. At HS and AK we never had to wait.

I'm happy to hear that. I wasn't aware they had changed their bag screening process, only heard of the nightmarish waits from some posters. Hopefully, it still holds true when we go at the end of October. :)

The bag check lines have definitely gotten better, but the wife and I frequently go sans bag. All we carry is our phones and a Fuel Rod that we can swap out in the parks as needed. It used to seem like we carried half the house around the parks with us, but then we realized we were just mules for the stuff the kids didn't want to carry. We bought them all small and lightweight backpacks, and now THEY are responsible for carrying and keeping track of their own stuff.

I frequently go bagless.

I just carry my phone, a portable phone charger, short USB cord, my ID card case (has a CC, license and generally like $20 in case of some weird emergency where I need $20...IDK), sunglasses on my head. That's it.

It doesn't have to be completely bagless - just use a really small bag. Like a MallBag - look that one up! They all are designed to fit under a jacket and against your body. Pack the bare minimum. Just unzip all the pockets for security before you walk up to them! ;) I have even clipped a small water bottle with carabiner to my bag if it's really hot, but you can ask for a paper cup of water for free if you just need to hydrate standing in the sun.

You are not a pack camel heading into the Sahara Desert for a week, you're in Disney and pretty much anything you need, there is a place to buy it! LOL

Just DH and I. He carries his wallet, flip phone, two cheap ponchos , tiny tiny bottle with meds, and a couple of pieces of hard candy. I have phone, bottle of water, lanyard with AP, DVC, ID, CC and $20.

I carry my phone in pocket that has an id holder and a bottle of water. Once I am done with the water I will refill it until I am tired or carrying it then buy or get cups of ice water the rest of the day.

Women's cargo shorts suck, the pockets don't even fit a cell phone. I go bagless 99% of the time. I try to buy sundresses that have pockets or wear knit shorts that have pockets. I have my cell phone, a small flip type wallet that has my ID, cc, some cash, my AP and if I'm staying at Swan/Dolphin my room key. Phone in one pocket, wallet in the other. Reading glasses on a chain around my neck. Cap on my head, sunglasses on my face. A small disposable poncho in a ziplock bag in the pocket with my wallet. I tried one of those things that you attach to the back of your phone that holds cards but it made my phone too fat to fit in my pocket. I've also been known to wear a scrub top that doesn't look too much like a scrub top or a scrub vest over a sundress if it doesn't have pockets. They have great pockets. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017V7YHJY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't need anything more than my phone, money, credit card and drivers license. That all goes in pockets.

I tried going bagless but had issues with my prescription glasses and sunglasses...they did not fit in a pocket or got scratched if in my DH's pocket. I have a small Dooney pouchette cross body that has only one zippered interior pocket, holds phone , credit cards, cash, small sunscreen, glasses and I can go thru security in a flash. Have a carbiner for my magic band puck that attaches to the bag.

We have done it but it wasn't a lot of fun. Really for us the only thing going in the bag is sunscreen and water bottles. We just use one of those small lightweight bags with the drawstring. Everything else is in the pockets.

DH and I often go bagless and phoneless! I give him my AP, DVC, CC and ID to keep in his wallet. That's it! If we need water, we'll stop at a quick-service and ask for a cup or two. We've found we really enjoy not having our phones on us. The main downside to this is, of course, not being able to make extra FP+ on the go and we do have to remember what our plans are.

However, this strategy is mainly used by us during evenings, after an afternoon break. When we go hard all day, DH has a small knock-off camelback with water, our phones, and extra sunscreen

Hubby and I always go bagless. We are having our first baby in November and the thought of ditching our no-bag routine stresses me out! :rotfl2:

I take my phone in my pocket, he takes his wallet with my ID in it, and off we go. We just carry a bottle of water or buy it when we need it.

I have cargo shorts - they are men's - but with some elastic at part of the waist - they fit me great as a female! They are actually pretty flattering on me. (Columbia Sportwears - Men's PFG Brewha II) With those - I can go bagless. I really just need a third pocket that seals - and I did find that in one pair of women's pants, too (that no longer fit me...)

But - Magic Band, Phone, snack bag with ibuprofen and dental floss, lip balm, and a couple of cards in flat case is really all I need (I take DL, credit card, AP card). Sometimes some cash, but not if I am staying on property as then I just use the MB. NOW - I like to add a small travel sunscreen and small comb - I can do that in my cargo shorts. Sunglasses I wear - and I have the string on them (purchased at Disney!) so they just float around my neck at night (these are a $15-20 dollar pair of sunglasses - good ones stay in car/room/at home). I rarely actually use lip balm in my every day life - but I think being outdoors most of the day just wrecks havoc on my lips! Sometimes I have a car key - sometimes I don't. I ONLY carry the car key - no other keys.

Another help is to get a phone case that attaches to a belt loop. I also recently bought a thing made by Running Buddy that will hold a phone and a few things at your waist line. I haven't tried it at Disney yet though - so I can't report on how well that works.

I do start the day with a water bottle. I use a D-clip that has an end that fits over the cap of a soda/water bottle. Makes the bottle easier to carry. I take a disposable bottle and refill it as long as I want during the day - but I often just throw the bottle away by the end of the day - and the clip is then attached to a belt loop so I don't lose it. You can buy these at places that sell camping gear, usually.

I just really hate having something on my shoulder all day. I also frequently use a fanny pack - which are not a fashion faux pas at Disney!

I used fit belt a couple times. Note that I didnt get to do this everytime as we had kids with us but we just went to the park for a couple hours or it was just me and DH I used just the fit belt. I used a card holder for my credit card, insurance, and license and that went into the fit belt pocket on one side and my cell phone went in the other. We each carried a water to begin. When we had the kids around for a long time in the park we used a mini backpack and they loved carrying it, so I got to go bagless which felt so refreshing and free.
