I am so confused. I've been thinking about buying a Baggallini for my upcoming trip. I need something big enough to hold tickets, wallet and/or money, photo pass, camera, cell phone, a diaper or two, a travel-size pack of wipes, maybe a sippy cup, and a travel size powder. I want to be comfortable and not have aching shoulders. Those seem to be my parameters. Oh, and wouldn't mind a place to put a bottle of water.

I like that the messenger bag has a place on the strap for your tickets! That is AWESOME!

But I also like that the urban backpack can convert from sling style to backpack.

What should I do?

Let me hear some of your seasoned opinions, baggallini users! Thanks!!!

There are hundreds, if not thousands more here that know their Baggalinis better than I...that said, I bought the messenger style rip-cord nylon online for 19.95 and just used it for my ten days in the world and LOVED it!

Yes, I carried my water bottle in the outside netted pouch and it can be stuffed to the gills and the strap adjusted to all different lengths. It was on every ride with me, in the rain and did great! I never used that strap for the tix, tho - stuck a pen in there to sign the DDP checks! Camera case went in there, cosmetics, three extra bottles of water, DD's autograph book, cell phone, my full wallet and God knows what else! Easy opening of the zippers for inspection, too.

I'm sure you'll get many more helpful responses!

Thanks for the quick response. I am wondering, though, if you can fit so much into the messenger bag, does it feel cumbersome? Is it larger than I thought it was?

I also have been shopping the bagallini. I want the messager bag but I haven't found it cheaper than 37.00. What am I doing wrong!!! LOL

Anyone know of a good place to find a "new" one cheaper?

i also have the ripstop messenger bag (mine's khaki color though, didn't want to stand out too much ;) ) and i love it! took it to the parks for our 8 days last week and it was great. even though i stuffed a lot of stuff in it, it did not feel cumbersome or heavy at all. the back back zip up spot was perfect for 2 ponchos, the big pouch had camera (sometimes 2 cameras), long sleeve shirt (for cold restaurants), random stuff we picked up along the way. next pouch had all the little sections in it which were great for my wallet, a mini sudoku book, receipts, park maps, etc. then threw pens/pencils and stuff like that in the outside small zip up. and my water bottle went in the mesh outside bottle holder, and my cell phone fit perfectly in the strap zip up area.

so really, it held a lot, with room to spare. and it was very comfortable. i love this bag!

I got mine brand new on Ebay for 19 dollars. I got the coral pink one.
Silly me didn't know it was supposed to be a messehnger back though and I tightened the strap to make it more like a sling backpack. It wasn't until I saw someone else with the same bag that I relized it was a messenger bag. Oh well, It is wonderful either way.

Never, even in the airport, did it become too heavy - it actually seems to ride better when packed solid.

Got mine on shoebuy from a link on the budget board - they are wizards over there!!

Thank you so much for the links for discounts! That's awesome!

Just wondering if any urban backpackers have anything to say about their bags?

Pros? Cons?

If you go to the ebags site, they have some reviews by people who bought it.

I did not want to buy a messenger because I don't like wearing things across my chest. I was going to go with the backpacker, but I was really afraid it would be too small. I ended up getting a small stylish backpack -
http://www.ebags.com/sherpani/vida_special_offer/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=82452 I've got it packed right now with all of my stuff- ponchos, umbrella, light sweater for daughter, camera and it holds everything perfectly. Plenty of pockets to keep everything organized and no zippers to slow me down.
