Are there any bags that you can bring on rides, or something you can wear on the ride with your belongings? I only need to carry my phone, some cash and a credit card. I don't have cargo pants so those are out. Was checking to see what everyone does, or does everything just put there things in the lockers before the rides?

We are finally going back to Universal and I'm use to bringing my mini hipster on rides at Disney, which I know you can't at Universal. So I wanted to see what everyone does and if you are even allowed to bring things on the rides anymore.

Thanks!

It’s the one thing I don’t like but yes most rides require most things In lockers. On rides like the hulk, you can’t even have your phone on you and they have metal detectors

I completely forgot that some rides have the detectors. I guess the good thing is I can just use the same bag, just put it in the lockers. Thanks for the reply!

From what I recall you can wear a three-prong waist pack on all the rides except the ones with metal detectors, which are Hulk and Rip Ride Rocket. They don't allow "loose" articles on the rides.

I love my Athleta skorts with zippered pockets for amusement parks. Quick drying and I can fit everything I need. I don't mind lockers at Universal though. They're no biggie to use. I'd just plan to use the lockers and not worry. :)

The lockers aren't a problem for the rides that do need them.....it adds a few seconds on to your day.....we used the lockers for Hulk, RRR as they don't allow anything at ay time, and on FJ and Mummy when I didn't have my Kipling Multiple on....which does have the three prong clasp....holds quite a lot too.

But, don't worry about the lockers they really aren't that bad......head for the rear areas of all lockers of they`re busy.....lots of people hang around the first ones they see.....we head straight for the back lockers if it`s busy.

I bought a running belt from gear beast on Amazon, for $10. Very low profile and has held up for all kinds of stuff. Worked very well for every ride that didn't require a metal detector. Just threw my phone, a small wallet and a small hand sanitizer in there and I was set.

Thanks guys.
I’m definitely not against lockers. Just trying to figure out what bag to bring lol.
Do you know minus RRR and Hulk, can you wear a lanyard around your neck with your phone on the other rides?

What sorts of bags fit in the small lockers? Has anyone tried the regular size Henri Bendel jetsetter? I hadn’t heard until today that the locker policy changed - I was last there in January 2018 and my daughter and I shared a large backpack.

Thanks guys.

You can wear a standard lanyard (that holds your ticket/cards) on all rides, including Hulk and RRR. People just tuck them inside their shirts typically.

The larger pouches that can hold your phone won't be allowed on Hulk and RRR, but would be fine on other rides.

I highly recommend a 3 pronged running belt, they are cheap, just shop on amazon and find one that will fit your phone. You can even get a waterproof one if you are going to go on water rides. Then you will only have to deal with the lockers for Hulk and RRR.

The lockers themselves aren't a big deal, it's the other people who cause it to be a huge pain. The worker's will even stand outside the locker rooms at busier times and shout to everyone to "just send one person per party into the locker area", and they will be ignored as entire families and groups of teens still congregate in front of the lockers and discuss who is putting what where and so forth. Carry as little as possible and you will thank yourself later.

My sister and I both wear a running belt with our phones, cc and ID, a little cash, a small ziplock baggy with Tylenol and meclizine (because we like roller coasters but we are old) and one of us will carry both belts (and sometimes sunglasses) and stick them together in a small locker with no problems.
