I need too know if they allow you to check a stroller and car seat and if it is considered to be part of your checked bag allowance? I did purchase a ticket for my DD. I know we are each allowed 2 bags per ticket but I don't want the stroller and car seat to be her allowance leaving her none for her luggage. If anyone can help me, I would give you great thanks.

I really don't want to gate check the stroller and car seat because I just don't want to hassle with them.

it has been a while since I travelled with a stroller or carseat, but unless they changed policies, neither one of them counted towards your allowed luggage!

AA's policy is that each ticketed passenger is allowed two free checked bags (subject to size and weight limitations) and I see no exclusions for strollers or car seats in their policy. If you check a stroller and a car seat (not counting gate checking), therefore, it should count as two checked items.

Thanks for the help. I finally called AA and my carseat and stroller do not count against being my 2 bag allowance for checked items. They said that they are inaddition to the allowable bags. I did call Continental Airlines because I thought about getting my tickets from them for our flights in Dec 07, they due consider the carseat and stroller as your 2 checked item allowance so I guess I'll book those tickets with AA also.
