It's been a tough few days.

Last Sunday DH broke his ankle playing basketball. Unfortunately I think he's lost his mind also. It must have something to do with being in pain and on Vicadin (sp?). I'm just venting here.

What I'm really thankful for: Monday night my 22 year old goddaughter was broadsided by a CEMENT TRUCK in Louisville, KY. Her new Ford Explorer was totalled. I'm told the engine was knocked right out of it - AND SHE WALKED AWAY! She's absoultely fine except for being sore from the air bag(s). I'm not even sure if it had side impact bags or not? One of the policeman told her if that vechicle protected her that well from being hit by a cement truck - he was getting one for his family!

She's a great kid - National Merit Scholar, spent a semester at Oxford, graduated with honors from college and just started going to dental college in Louisville. I am so very, very thankful some guardian angels were looking after her.

Thanks for listening.

WOW. That's amazing. Glad she's ok.
And yeah, Vicadin can definitely make a person be not as with it as normal. Hope he's doing better soon.

Thanks Heather - I'm amazed too, it's hard to believe she could be so lucky.

As for DH - we're fortunate that eventually he's gonna heal . . .

Hey we're hoping to be DVC owners about the same time as you!

It is hard to believe. But I've personally experienced luck in an accident, so it definitely can happen. Glad to see too that it was an Explorer that kept her safe, since that's what I drive now.
My mom and stepdad bought DVC this year. April is when we're *hoping* to get down to WDW. Best part is when I'm older I know I'll still be able to take vacations even if I don't have a ton on money, since mom'll let me use her DVC!

Does your explorer have side impact bags? I wasn't clear on that. She only had hers for 4 months. Hopefully your Explorer will never be so tested!

That's great for you and DVC :) We're just paying off a few other bills before we buy in.

Have a good day!

Glad she is OK. I was in a bad accident in March. My door was broadsided and I was also able to walk away. I have been told repeatedly that I was extremely lucky to have even survived the hit. My door was pushed way inside the car. Luckily I turned my body inward at the last second and that is probably the reason I am still here today. I was a passenger in a Ford Expedition when this happened. Our accident was caused by a tractor trailer and it ended up being a 5 car accident.

So glad your goddaughter is okay. I drive a Ford Explorer as well! No side airbags though.

I was broadsided when I was 18 years old and the police and rescue both said I would of been dead if I was wearing my seatbelt:( I had both front windows down and the impact ejected me out the passenger window. Luckily was I okay! However, my mom's brand new car with less than 100 miles was totalled.

She is blessed indeed. I'm sorry about your DH though. As far as losing his mind, check at the DR office. He might have left it there.

Happy Thoughts to all,

I'm forwarding your compliment on the Explorer to my wife, who works for at the Ford Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. It's always good to hear positives about the product!

Oh definitely Doug123, tell her the story - and give her a big hug and kiss and THANK YOU! from me and my family!

(I've seen the Ford plant there - been up to the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village many times).
