So currently the plan is to go to MK wednesday and HS friday. But looking at the forecast its calling for thunderstorms and showers for these days. I really don't want to, but should I move these days? I really don't want any show cancellations. Especially wishes and fantasmic.

No you will be pretty lucky this week! No rain in site. Now next week is another story! We have planned to go the week of the 14th and the whole week looks to be a washout. All I can say is bring the Ponchos and make the best of it.! Enjoy your vacation and have a blast!

We'll be there as well. Is this some type of storm system? There is not much we can do, but what a mess!

Maybe it will just shrivel up and go away. My friends who live in Orlando say never pay attention to the weather this far out but how can you not? Anyway, Hoping for the best. Enjoy your vacation though.. :wave2:

Wow, what am I missing? I am watching the weather for next week as well. I have been using accuweather.com and I don't see washout at all? Florida is funny... If it says scattered showers.., it could be sunny all day in MK. Just bring the ponchos and have fun :)

Half the times it just rain for 20 mins and then get sunny back out.. Continue as planned and see you there ;P

Just bring ponchos and take lots of pictures while there aren't many people around :)

It is far too early for any reports of that week to be accurate. I wouldn't worry yet.

;)

As for this week... well really still too early! :rotfl:

The current forecast calls for afternoon thunder shower POSSIBLE on Wednesday and POSSIBLE storms on Friday. I also wouldn't worry about that. If anything all it does is clear out the park while you enjoy a nice inside show.

Even if it rains, you don't melt. I don't even bother with ponchos, you just get miserably hot and sticky in them.

Protip: during a downpour all the delicate flowers disappear and you can walk onto many high-profile attractions!

It always rains sometime at this time of year! The ponchos help, bring dry socks or wear shoes that can get wet and dry fast. You just have to "go with the flow!"

If there are heavy rains or high winds near the start of Fantasmic yes they may cancel the show, but for Wishes it pretty much takes a hurricane to stop it, the worst that may happen is the Tink does not fly.

For Wishes, once they load the fireworks tubes they have to be shot off. Its a safety risk to unload the tubes so unless there is really high winds that may blow a shell really far off its going to happen, even in the rain.

On the few days it has not been run they will wait until the middle of the night when the winds may die down or there are no people and set them off.

im going end of this week and all of next week and the weather looks fine so far. Some thunderstorms but thats it..... 85 and sunny most of the days. I hope it stays like that for all of us with trips next week!! Being from MA and standing out at the soccer field this weekend in 40 degree weather with a wind chill that felt -10 - I will take 80 degrees and some thunderstorms!

It seems every time we go to WDW this time of year we get at least ONE day of showers. Take everyone else's advice and dress accordingly (ponchos, etc). The showers typically never last long, and crowds diminish making wait times lower. :)

I live basically on property (golden oak is directly behind me) and the only weather data I put at stock in is historical. Just bring ponchos in case it rains and call it a day.

Historically April is one of the lowest months for precipitation following November and December. I've always had good luck in April. In June we got hit by a tropical storm. That was bad. It's rained on our trips in August through October. Not washouts but often a passing shower each day. April has been perfect, cooler in the mornings and beautiful afternoons. Fingers crossed that history repeats :)

We have been the past 2 Decembers and have been rained on. I am going later this week and was really hoping for a rain-free, blue skies all day trip. ;)

Whoa, where are you seeing a washout forcasted??? I've checked Weather Channel and National Weather Service, and both are just predicting 20-40% chance of isolated/scattered thunderstorms for most of the week :confused3

We'll be there a week from Thursday... one of the reasons we picked April was that it is one of the drier months. We had really bad luck with rain in June a couple of times. Really hoping this isn't a repeat!

Where are you seeing this? I've started my forecast stalking (we arrive on Saturday) and so far Weather.com looks pretty good and Accuweather even a little better. Some chance of rain but doesn't look like a washout to me.:confused3
