Bad US air experience

I was on a flight once where a couple of kids boarded in an exit row, I was sitting behind them with my niece. It was row 9 of a 757. The flight attendent forced them to switch seats with people in the back. I was also sitting at the gate one time when the gate agent asked for 3 adults traveling together to move to an exit row because of a family seated there. Someone did volunteer.

If you don't volunteer, they will MOVE you by force. LOL

However, I will say that I believe that the FAA expects the first line of defense on this to be the gate agents. Lately if I have the exit row seat a beeper goes off when they scan my boarding pass. They then look me over and ask me if I am willing to deal with the exit row. Since this started I have not seen any children in the exit row where they had to be moved.

My husband, older teenage son and I are always looking to get the exit row. We always tell the gate agent that we're happy to trade for it if needed. W've been on many flights where we got on and realized there were kids in the exit row, and I've told the FA that we'd be happy to switch. Love the extra legroom!
