Bad Pictures and Mediocre reviews...enjoy Updated 11/6

Sunshine Seasons -

I like breakfast here because it's usually pretty quick and easy. I am not a fan of the fact that there are no toasters so if you get a bagel you have to eat it cold, but that can be avoided by not getting a bagel.

Instead I got my standby, cheese danish and an OJ.

The danish could have been better...it was really bready and not so cheesy. I had a better one last year.

Le Chefs De France

I had an ADR at restaurant opening, so it was a bit of a wait before checking in. They don't do pagers here, or at least they didn't when I arrived. They were taking walk ups with minimal wait and even managed to seat a walk up party of 25 within minutes of opening.

I was seated a two top next the front window, nice view of World Showcase. The tables are pretty close together, but it wasn't bad. I'm kind of a starer, so it's never good when people sit too close to me (for them it isn't) but I managed not to make anybody feel uncomfortable.

In a restaurant full of cute French waiters, I got the single homely French girl. She took her sweet time getting to my table which didn't really make sense since I was her first table of the day, she should have been taking my drink order before my butt hit the chair.

I chose to go with the Prix Fixe menu. I started with the Lobster Bisque.

I really liked this, it was warm, creamy and had nice chunks of lobster in it. It also went really well with the baguette that was served.

My entree was the Quiche Lorraine

I was not thrilled with this. It was much more lose and eggy than I like my quiche to be. The taste itself was great, but texture is a huge thing for me and I didn't get the texture I wanted.

For dessert it was the Profiteroles.

I'd heard so many good things about these I couldn't not get them. All I can say is WOW!....what a disappointment. The puffs were incredibly dry, the ice cream was too cold if that's even possible and I really didn't enjoy the puddle of hershey's syrup that they were drowning in.

I am glad that I tried Les Chefs, I really am, but I won't be back.

I'm sorry to hear you returned not enthused about the idea of doing a dining report... but I'm glad that you are sharing your photos and thoughts. I was there around the same time and am kicking myself that I missed Chef TJ.

I enjoyed your reviews. I do like Ohana also. That sandwich
at EOS did look gross (even though the items are good stuff).

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Pretty much the funniest thing I have read in months, thank you. Not only was she ugly, but she was a crappy waitress, lol. Sorry for your bad experience but thank you for making me laugh!!:lmao::lmao:

Really enjoying your dining report and your honest opinions!
Thanks for reading!

TJ was a lot of fun, you should try to catch him next year if you are doing F&W

F&W Deminar - Frederic Monti

I really didn't know much about this demo going in to it, but it turned out to be a great experience.

It wasn't crowded at all so I was able to get a close table. I was happy to find out that we'd be having another Vodka pairing. Of course, that meant vodka guy again, but I could deal.

Pam was back and hosting again, I think she is just doing the weekends this year or something, funny how they don't make her wear the same ugly shirts that they make the rest of the hosts wear ;)

1010150475.jpg

Pam introduced vodka guy who brought us out a frozen lemon drop. It was really delicious. We got a small shot of straight vodka on the side to try and I ended up adding that to the lemon drop for a little more kick.

The chef came out and started prepping his dish, a deep fried cheesecake with a raspberry filling in a passionfruit coolis. He had a sous chef with him and she did some of the explaining of what was going on. They were from a company that makes molecular gastronomy type stuff that goes in desserts like gelato, cheesecake, etc.

1010150480.jpg

The chef had a heavy accent so it was a little hard to understand what he was saying most of the time, but his cheesecake was incredible.

1010150479.jpg

It was warm, unbelievably creamy and the sauces were perfect. I could have eaten that little bite of heaven after every meal for the rest of my life.

Thanks for your report. I always enjoy your reviews.

BTW It's John Ekin. He used to play a magician at the Diamond Horseshoe Review and then was a performer on the Boardwalk for a few years. He is a wonderful performer and I enjoy meeting him whenever we go to WDW.

F&W - Vodka Seminar

I really should have skipped this event since it was yet again featuring obnoxious vodka guy, but alas, I went anyway.

I'm not going to get into too many details because honestly I didn't pay much attention. When I signed up for this they said it included a cocktail, but when I arrived I found out it was just 3 shots of vodka. I like vodka, but I'm not fond of sipping it straight.

1010150482.jpg

Vodka guy was terrible, he was well spoken at the deminars, but for some reason he was all over the place and almost nervous at this event.

1010150484.jpg

He talked, we drank a little bit - the woman on the end of my row was doing shots like it was her job, and taking any extras around her, she probably had 6 or 7 in the 30 minutes we were there. Mostly I talked to the people next to me who were nice and fun and we ignored what was going on with vodka guy. I don't know that I'd do another vodka seminar if I went back to F&W in the future.

F&W Kiosks

Greece - Spanikopita

1010150485.jpg

Yum...always love the Spanikopita

Spain - Spanish Almond Cake

1010150486.jpg

I really liked this, I make an almond cake for family things and parties that everyone loves and it reminded me a lot of this. The cake was pretty dense and had a strong almond flavor. If you like that sort of thing this would be perfect. The only thing that could have been improved is if it was not cold.

China - Potstickers

1010150487.jpg

I like potstickers, good stuff. These were nice because they were kind of crispy and very warm and I like the sauce they come with.

Kringla Bakery og Cafe

Rice Cream

1010150488.jpg

Yum. If your love for rice pudding and fake strawberry sauce is as strong as mine, you'll love rice cream too.

F&W Deminar - Jamie Deen

This will be mostly pictures - it was a really good event

Pictures from while I was still in line - Jamie caught me taking photos and started posing
